  • Pilates focuses on "core" strength. This means abdominal muscles - the idea is that the core is the most important part of your body to strengthen. A strong core aligns the spine, allows for better breathing - more oxygen to get to the muscles, etc. Pilates also strengthens legs, arms and hips. The strong core also means…
  • could definitely be allergic reaction - as far as the make-up goes, I've been in your place! I'm now using Physician's Formula mineral powder foundation and it has GREAT full coverage (you wouldn't think so being that it's just a powder) and it goes on delicately so it doesn't upset your skin and there is a lot of…
  • Hi All - Here's the recipe! The Green Smoothie delivers a load of vitamins and minerals because by blending vegetables and fruits you are essentially doing something called "pre-digestion" meaning the blending breaks down the cellular walls of the vegetables, releasing more of the nutrients that are then absorbed in your…
  • WOW!!!! Great work!!!
  • Welcome! You'll do great if you just stick with it. Everytime I'm on MFP, I lose weight and whenever a take a couple weeks off, I gain back weight - lesson: try your hardest to keep logging in every day. Even if you're "bad" and pig out, log it in! Better not to quit!
  • Hi Liz! Good for you!!! I'm the same way - I always go really hard for a couple of weeks and then something happens (usually an event or dinner) and I veer off for one day, then I think I've failed, then I just go ahead and eat whatever I want and then I'm back to square one again. Supposedly it takes 30 days to gain a…

  • Friend me! I was always up and down with weight loss and I've finally lost 10 pounds, so I'm motivated! I also came up with a neat visualizer idea (involving marbles!) to keep me on track (the link to the post is on my status feed). Stay positive!
  • awesome! good for you!
  • add more fiber to your diet and eat a bunch of small meals throughout the day - like every 2-3 hours. When late night hits, keep some chopped vegetables in the fridge to pull out whenever you have the need to just munch on something - and eat as many of those as you want!

  • I hate to admit it, but I certainly fell off the band wagon and reasoned myself away from this site... I'm not sure why and it doesn't make a whole lotta sense. It was almost as if I was afraid to keep going. I lost 5 lbs and didnt' think I could keep up with my "luck." I know it's not luck, but my brain works in crazy…
  • After a lot of the usual stress that comes with wedding planning and prep, my fiance and I needed to take a "vacation" - meaning we told everyone we went camping and couldn't be reached. What we really did was stay in all weekend and play Wii. It was great to not even go to the store or answer the phone, but of course that…
  • eh.. I'm 23 and I have several gray hairs! stress will do that to you!
  • sometimes you just want to curl up and eat. if you're not up to the physical exercise, the pick up a good girls' book (anything by Candace Bushnell... i.e. Sex and the City, Lipstick Jungle, Trading up) and just read. Since it's not tv, you won't be tempted to snack ... and a good book will let you escape for a while AND…
  • SWEET! That's awesome!!!
  • Has anyone tried the body wrap or that foot detox thing? What is up with these?
  • hah - i purposely drink water before bed so that i actually GET out of bed in the morning!!
  • I'm sure I'm one of hundreds of thousands of people who sit in a chair for 7 hours a day.... any tips on some sneaky desk exercises that will really get the muscles working? ...or even the heart rate up?!
  • BEST thing ever for allergies, a cold, congestion, etc.. get a Neti Pot! It was seriously the best purchase I ever made. It is kind of frightening for beginners - just because it's not part of our culture to "irrigate" this way, but in other countries, people do this sort of thing as regularly as they brush their teeth! I…
