  • Hi gals. I am currently 4 days post-op from breast reduction. My PS took 1.1 pound from each side. I am feeling pretty good as of today. Still can't shower, drive, lift anything heavier then 5 pounds or reach above my head. I only needed pain meds for 2 days and Tylenol yesterday. Nothing today. I can tell already I'm…
  • Thanks for your honest post. I have been contemplating and researching BB for a few weeks now. I personally have a "coach" who is also my Zumba instructor and she is great. Not pushy and lets me join free challenges without buying stuff. I do like the workouts but don't like the idea of the shakeology at all. I have…
  • I think you look wonderful! Great inspiration! Thanks for sharing
  • Actually I think you should either eat more total daily calories, perahps your cutting your calories too low, too fast; or eat more calories earlier in the day and less at night. I have the same problem you do. My will power is great all day long but at night it goes right out the window and I want to eat everything not…
  • I too wanted to try this sport to get outside during the NY winters. So I bought an old used set from craigslist (didn't want to spend too much money in case I didn't like it). Today was my first time trying it. So first I kinda dressed like I do when I run outside in winter. Went outside, hooked myself in and took off.…
  • Ok, so this is the first year I've actually gotten outside in the winter to run. So I can understand all your questions. First off, I only run outside when it's light out, so usually only on weekends of an occasional weekday. My first layer is a long sleeve wicking material top and my usual wicking material pants. Then…
  • bumping for reading later :)
  • Thanks for the replies so far. BTW this Dr is a man and a dermatologist. When I asked him about exercise, he patted his stomach and said this works for me and I don't exericise. LOL I may still try it for a diet jump start. Nothing else seems to be working for me :(
  • [/quote] Hilarious!!!! But seriously, my average pace is 11.5 and I like it that way!! When I try to go faster, I get out of breath, can't enjoy the scenery etc. I've been running about 3 years and still at this pace, but hey, Faster then those slow bears, LOL. (And my friends on the couch or sidelines)
  • I too have lost 20 pounds then gained 17 back. Starting over too. It's a road we both have travelled so should be fast.
  • SLOW down. I really have trouble with my breathing for about 10-12 minutes. I have to go pretty slow to warm up then my breathing gets into a rhythm and then it's my body that wants to quit not my lungs.
  • I recently had this very same issue. First my left foot then my right. No tingling, etc in leg, just in my feet. I have scoliosis so thought that was causing the issue (maybe pounding of body causing pinched nerve or something). I went to a chiropractor and my DR. Both said it was just local issue and should go away. I've…
  • You will get many different answers for your question. My personal first 5K was 36:31 and second was 34:58. Now since I have been slacking with my running is more like the 40's cus I take many walking breaks
  • When I first started running seriously a year ago, I would get terrible shin splints so I quickly learned I had to stretch my calfs. I usually will walk for 4-6 minutes then find a tree or guiderail. I will put one foot up on tree and bend knee and lean in. Repeat on other side. Then I reach behind me and hold foot and…
  • Looking good Berry! I too fall off that darned wagon and have to crawl back on, Chin up girl :flowerforyou:
  • Upstate NY, where I have cows and white tail deer next door. You can friend me if you want support :flowerforyou:
  • Oh They both are just a couple of 5K's. But I still don't run in the morning, but will be getting up within a half hour of running (on training days). I tend to get low blood sugar so skipping food all together is just not an option.
  • Well said Chris
  • -5'3", SW164, CW154 lbs, 38 years old -still lossing -right now I have my calories set to 1740 (goal weight X 12) and try to not eat exercise calories back -Run/walk mainly only exercise other then gardening, mowing lawn, house chores, etc. I too find it really hard to lose weight. Seems to be a very slow process for me…
  • I hear ya, I hear ya. I too was over whelmed a month or so ago and decided to take some time off. I felt like logging every single morsel and calorie and minutes moving was just too much. I was reading all kinds of posts and articles about weight loss. Try this, you need this so this doesn't happen, etc. Got to be too…
  • no ears cus I can grow my hair long to cover it up. Would you rather be a man with boobs or a girl with a penis?
  • As a nurse, I see patients everyday that smoked for years and years. Some are on oxygen 24 hours a day, some have cancer, traches (whole in throat in order to breath). They come in so out of breath that they have to stop before they get back to the exam room. Many times they have these syptoms many years after stopping…
  • I'll be running after dinner. Can't wait actually
  • No one has told you WHY fiber is important. Fiber doesn't digest therfore it helps to pull everything together in the bowels and actually cleans the walls. Fluids (mainly water) is important too as fiber absorbs the water. This allows the stool to not be too hard or too loose and come out easier. The key is to introduce…

  • I feel your pain! I too have been off the wagon so to speak for the last month or so. Using my "life" as excuses. Not logging, eating way too much and not exercising. My weight has crept up a little too. I think I was borded and tired of the monotony of having to log every bit of food that passed my lips. Log all my…
