you can buy Atkins diet cereal? I don't follow their diet but was also looikng to lower carbs

This is my life as well - I'm constantly living out of hotels for work (and those that don't have kitchens/fridges etc). Depending on where you are I do a mix of room service (looking for healthier options - also ask them to not put on certain spreads etc, they can tweak the dishes for you), eating out (but I look up the…

You want protein if you are working out but not loads - it looks like you would be body building the amount you are consuming? I would cut out the protein drink as you are already getting lots of protein? Try adding some nuts - you have the calories (and fat) to spare.

Unfortunately as you lose weight and get closer to your target the harder it is to lose weight. MFP tells me to eat 1,200 calories to lose 2 pounds per week but actually I would need to eat less than this, this would actually mean nearer to 1 pound per week - however it won't set it below this as its not good for you.…

all your nutritional targets are automatically as soon as you put in exercise and adjust depending on how much you do

I asked at Holland & Barrett about this as my bowels are the same unfortunately - even when I eat sufficient fibre (I'm now also trying to reduce carbs - not to be too low but I was always over on carbs and sugar so trying to balance things better and recently got a book on the GI diet). They recommended a cranberry…

Hello fellow brummy! I totally understand, been trying to focus on the long term (and yes I get impatient and annoyed on weigh days even if the scales have gone down and my clothes are looser). I try to plan my diary for the day ahead (and several days if I can) and find this can help.

From England, want to lose approximately 7 more pounds and concentrate on toning my legs and stomach.

Always willing to help if I can. Feel free to add me

I weigh myself in the morning before eating, but also on the same day every week - trying to make it comparable by being consistent like that. Its the most accurate but ultimately it doesn't matter too much as long as you are consistent.

I binge when I'm emotional or bored. Can you pick out a reason why you do? It may help. I went off the diet wagon badly a few months ago and even stopped using MFP as I couldn't bear to see what I was eating and how much. But I'm back on here and back successfully on the diet. I find planning ahead often helps - less…

I mainly use MFP on my phone so it can be hard to see everything. But every few days I try and make a conscious effort to go through all friends and see what they have been up to - and especially send messages to those that haven't logged in to encourage them and check that they are ok.

bump - I'm getting desperate I know!

thanks. I'm away for several days at a time though and the hotel rooms don't have a microwave or a fridge - would be much easier if they do. Therefore dairy, perishable food etc isn't an option- hence why I have been relying on cereal bars. Unfortunaltey I often get the train or fly to these places so also don't have a car…

I often eat cereal bars as I travel a lot - I found that the kelloggs fibre bars are one of the best bars out there nutriotionally (in terms of carbs, sugar etc) however they still contain FAR TOO MUCH SUGAR and so I'm trying to look for alternatives. I recently bought some Atkin breakfast bars to help cut down on the…

There is nothing wrong with having a snack mid morning so don't worry. In fact most diets recommend it, saying eat more meals just lower calories - helps keep your metabolism more stable.
-
I would recommend getting a book about the GI diet. This will help recommend lots of food and snacks for you. Oakcakes are a good snack.

can you set yourself little weight loss targets (focussing on small targets rather than the end goal) and set yourself little rewards/prizes for if you hit them - have a positive to look forward to. The weight gain is the past and is done, you need to look forwards. Just think if you spilt a glass of red wine over your top…

I sometimes send them a message asking if they are ok etc - and if you don't get a reply after a while (but allow time for holidays) hey at least you tried...........

Try and work out the reasons for the binges - for instance for me its if I'm bored or in a bad mood. Also perhaps try and plan your meals in advance? I find if I have already decided what I'm having that day then I'm more likely to stick to it for some reason, but also build in treats (such as no added sugar jelly pots or…

good luck. Its a brilliant tool and you will get loads of support and advice on the website or via adding friends. Be positive and set yourself lots of little short term goals/targets and things to look forward to to keep you on the straight and narrow.

I am fanatical about logging in every day and try to plan days in advance where possible. I travel a lot with work so often have time on my hands so frequently log in, so happy to help if I can! Re your plateau, are you accurately measuring and recording absolutely everything? Do you need to reassess your daily calories…
