Hi, my name is Alicia, and I'm a Cheese-o-holic. It's been approximately 29 years since I was cheese-free... and the exact year depends on how early my mom started me on solid food as a baby. :drinker: I will never live without cheese. I would be so sad.

I have no memories of learning how to ride a horse- apparently my first ride I was 2. :) I love horses, though I miss them terribly right now since I don't have the time or space for one of my own. My family has a ranch in TX where I used t ride and help train... and help gentle and halter train the new foals each breeding…

Bootcamp commitment is AWESOME! Good for you! I'm too scared to try it, I'm a Zumba girl though! :) Stick with it, you'll get there!

anyone can add me- I'm not new, but I'm still in the "trenches". I may not comment on everything, but I'm always available for feedback, venting, advice, etc... going both ways. We're all learning here, and new friends means new ideas and methods to share. I also keppy my diary open to keep me honest and on track.…

I'd be up for it too- haven't seen this thread before!

LOL, I really don't like pizza unless pineapple is on it- but I can see your point. I think adding hot sauce to food basically means the food tastes bad, or that you just want to drink hot sauce. If you put hot sauce on food someone else cooks for you, it's basically an insult to their cooking. Don't ruin food with hot…

low sugar protein bars (met-rx has a peanut butter crisp one that's really good!!!), raw, whole, unsalted almonds, 100 cal sweet & salty popcorn (individual bags), pre-portioned chocolate protein powder (i use the tiny round tupperwares), natural peanut butter (I mix the powder w/ peanut butter then microwave it about 25…

When I need something to wake up (so I don't trip over a machine sleepwalking), I'll do a red bull zero, or a 5 hr energy. edit: redbull zero is not the same as sugar free! I like it better.

Love Zumba! LOVE LOVE IT! I go 3 days a week... when I started I was just keeping my calories down, got rid of all fast food, and started Zumba. I lost 25 inches in about 8 weeks, mostly from around my midsection (upper rib cage down to hips- which is THE hardest spot for me to loose normally), and went down 15lbs. I don't…

lol agreed- BMI = Crap when it comes to individual purposes. It's useful for large groups of statistical data... and nothing beyond that. Example: I have a friend who is tall and extremely fit- like, 5% body fat or less kinda fit, and very muscular. According to BMI, he's "obease". We laugh about it all the time.

For food, I agree with not letting yourself get hungry... keep healthy snacks handy, and literally "snack light". Take it easy at dinner- make a deal with yourself... if you know what's going to be on the table (more or less) pre plan in your head! Think about what you KNOW you won't be able to resist, and think "ok, so…

Where I live (Orlando) we have a place calle Track Shack- a specialty store for running. I would look up "Detriot running store" or something along those lines, and just make sure that it's not a large sports store with a ton of different departments... I've always found that the specialized ones are truely better when it…

Game of Thrones series is amazing...

Just a note here- this is a true statement for sure, but it's more when you get out of the port itself. You'll know when you do get close to the port exit to the city, because there will be a wall of taxi drivers all shouting and reaching for you. Depending on which pier you dock at in Cozumel, the port shop owners may be…

Grand Cayman: if you like the ocean and animals, one of the "you can only do this in cayman" things is going out to the sandbar at stingray city and petting/feeding the stingrays. It's truely amazing! Also at Cayman that is great is the turtle farm! They have a couple rum factories you can tour as well.. Cozumel is a…

Talking to my husband on my cell phone, and walking around the house looking for my cell phone at the same time. (and getting mad that I can't find it. :blushing: )

I'm still on board too- but yes, 30lbs is looking a bit far away. :( I'll get there, just not right at Christmas.

I'm 195, 5'3''. Same kinds of activities too- I have a 5k in two weeks! :) I'm also an avid Zumba attendee- I have the DVD's, but I have classes 3 days a week which are tons of fun! :) I also weight train.

Separate the skin from the meat in a large pocket, so to speak, and put all of the seasoning between the skin and the meat. You don't want to detatch the skin, just run you rhand under the skin far enough back to seperate it. You can then use a little butter against the meat, and then add the rub/seasonings. I do an apple…

No, it does EVENTUALLY leave your system, it just takes a very VERY long time. This is talking about inorganic mercury (not elemental, as in- not from a metallic form of mercury), if you want to read the full thing, here it is: http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/phs/phs.asp?id=112&tid=24#bookmark04 From CDC: Once inorganic mercury…

I like the tuna creations, so I'm there with you. I did some research myself. It kinda goes by your weight, but over all it's not a good idea to eat a ton of it... look it up. Albacore is one you want to NOT eat if you do eat Tuna frequently... super high mercury content. This is what is recommended for me (I'm 195…

Thanks for the recommendations! I'll test it out for sure. I don't always react well to things with a lot of sugar (just get an upset stomach)... so I'll try it before one of my runs here at home.

It has a lot of uses- pest control, filtration, absorbant (for toxic spills but also in cat litter), it used to be in toothpaste (is it still? not sure..) even... but to my knowledge, you don't eat it... but it won't kill you either.
