I'm planning on getting a belly piercing and a professional photo session that will be very er -- well let's say sexy. :blushing: And this will be at the age of 43. My 21-year old daughter says she will go with me to get the piercing (she already has one). I'm sure I will need hand holding because I am a wimp and I don't…

Mine came from my mother's nickname ( RIP Mommy 1940 - 1990  ). She got the name when she was born. She was so small that the nurse called her "Splinky" and it stuck the rest of her life. (What does it mean and where did the nurse get it from -- I have no idea.) Anyway, I am her second daughter so I added the…

[/quote] WOO HOO! I was successful in accomplishing these goals yesterday. Today (December 15), my three goals are similar. 1: Drink 12 glasses (or more) of water. May up this to 15 after one week. 2: Log each meal and stay under calorie goal (includes taking taking daily vitamins) 3: Attend Zumba class for a 60-minute…

I love this idea. I think it'll help me meet my end weight goal by the end of this year or end of January 2012 at the latest. I am 42 years old and have officially lost 16 pounds since August. My ticker says 20 because that's what I lost when I included the dieter's tea loss before Thanksgiving -- that loss was temporary…

Now that's talent! I love it!

Now that's hilarious. For me, it's more of a picture of a deer caught in headlights. :noway:

Absolutely gorgeous!!! I'm proud to have you as my MFP friend too! :flowerforyou:

congratulations to you. job well done.

I'm in. I bought the Wii Zumba a while back but was not a fan because it was too sensitive -- gave me credit for barely -- and I do mean barely moving. Do you have any suggestions for other Zumba DVDs? I also plan to go to a Zumba class on Saturdays for 1 hour.

Wow! Isn't it amazing how they can just sucker us in if we are not paying attention? And we act like we are shocked that as a nation we are obese. SMH. :indifferent:

sounds delicious and healthy.

Review the items you listed as your inspiration on your profile page. You have a wedding set for 2012?? If you stop now, 1) you won't be at the goal you want for that special day and 2) there's a possibility that you could gain some of that weight back unless you have some type of really good system for maintaining where…

Thank you both for the reply. Much appreciated.

My opinion is to get the rest your body needs. It may already be overtaxed which is why you may be becoming ill. There's no shame in having to take a break. The experts recommend it. Also, what good will it do you to stress your body even more while you are sick -- none. Instead, it will take longer to return to normal.…

Hello, I will support you in this challenge. My goal is to lose 13 more by the end of the year. By doing so, I will have reached the initial goal I set for weight loss when I started MFP.

WOW!!!

I agree with this idea or eat only half of what you choose on the menu. Don't worry about what your co-workers think or will say. This is about your health. Maybe you can suggest a different place to have the working lunch at? Maybe they will be willing to rotate restaurant ideas from the participants.

Congratulations! That's a wonderful accomplishment in less than one month.
-
Love it when it's done tastefully and respectfully. I don't like feeling like a piece of meat dangling in front of a starving wolf.

I agree with everybody else on here. But specifically, I want to say also do not give up and throw in the towel -- even if you do not lose another pound, you are gaining a more fit body through exercise. Let's not focus so much on the scale, but also remember to pay attention to the inches lost. The inches are what matters…

Here is one quote that I use on a daily basis: "Always Do Your Best. Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judment, self-abuse, and regret." an excerpt from "The Four Agreements"…

You won't know unless you try. Everybody is different. So, experimenting until you find something that works is probably all you can do. However, I would suggest looking into hula-hooping to help with the belly fat. I have been doing it pretty consistently as a warm up prior to doing my workouts from the DVD. I believe it…

Aaaawwww. That's wonderful! One Pound Down Per Week is my daily affirmation. Keep up the good work! It all adds up. :flowerforyou:

Logging in on a daily basis hopefully means that people are committed to recording what they eat and how they exercise. It means that milestones are being made. For some, those little notices are good reminders of their good behavior. And since experts say that people who write down what they eat have a better chance of…

Great job everyone!

My birthday is June 29 - so we are basically birthday buddies. And I know how it is to want to have a specific weight goal met by that time. But, sometimes it just doesn't work out that way and we miss the deadline that our bodies do not agree with. However, based on your calculations and if everything goes…

Drinking water has become my specialty. If you need a jumpstart to get going, you can either add the flavored powder packets (e.g. Crystal Light, 4C Totally Light Teas, etc.) or you can buy flavored water such as Fruit2O. Once you get the hang of drinking water, you are going to want it instead of juices, sodas,…
