  • I go 4x/week for 60 min each. I do Zumba twice and Zumba Sentao twice. It is the SINGLE thing that has motivated me to go the gym. Never, in my 39 years, have I ever had a desire to do anything related to exercise or working out until I tried Zumba. When I joined the gym, I set my goal on 3x/week and with maybe 2 or 3…
  • You said you prefer fruity which I take to mean sweet... For me, reds are too rich and not sweet at all. I prefer white and my favorite is a Moscato. It's a sweet white and not crazy high in calories either. :) Have a great time!!!
  • Meridian, ID. :) I know exactly what you mean. Add me if you'd like! Cheers!
  • I like Yoplait - blueberry, strawberry, or honey. But I just tried and LOVE Zoi with honey. I think I'm going to freeze a little and see if it tastes as wonderful frozen. I think it would be a great replacement for ice cream. :)
  • Take it slow, ice 15 minutes, off 30, then repeat. Maybe some ibuprophen to assist with pain & swelling. (I am certainly not an expert nor a doctor, just someone who has hurt her knees and this is what I was told to do.) This won't be a setback unless you let it. You can rest for a couple days then begin again. Trust me -…
  • 1. To log food on MFP every day 2. To recognize, and not allow myself, to emotionally eat. 3. Start losing weight - again - plateau really sucks. 4. Continue 4x/week at the gym (this is shockingly the easiest one on the list).
  • heart square ( I have no idea how to make the little shapes) - 22?
  • Don't give up. I don't claim to have anywhere close to the knowledge base needed to give guidance - but I do know that change happens slowly and giving up isn't the right answer. Keep on keeping on... think about how you feel, how your clothes feel, etc and not just about the number on the scale.

  • I'm so proud of you for starting the thread. Mental illness is real... and still a very hush-hush topic for so many. My husband has struggled for years and years with severe depression and PTSD and has attempted suicide twice (once before we met). The attempt 4 years ago was a huge wake up call and he has worked hard with…
  • Yes! I'm at 235 and starting boot camp at my gym next week. I hope it's the change up I need!
  • I've lost 39 since August 2011 by eating right and doing Zumba 4x/week. I recently added in strength training and am going to add boot camp in a couple weeks. Good luck to you.
  • I'm 5'7" and started Aug 2011 at 273. I am now at 235. No progress pics. I should do that soon! Maybe at 233 (40 #)! Slow and go... for me, it's been adding exercise (Zumba addict) and learning the lessons about eating right for ever - not just to lose the weight and gain it back. Good luck; add me if you'd like!
  • Wow; what a challenge for you to handle right now. I don't know everything, but I do know that YOU are important and need to keep yourself healthy while caring for everyone else. I can only imagine the planning and the organization you must have ahead. Just remember to carve out a little time for you every day. Maybe it…
  • Thanks for sharing. Those are the good kicks in the *kitten* that we can all benefit from!
  • Great thread... I have been eating around 1700-1800 since probably Sept 2011. I've lost 35 and am proud of that. The last couple days I have been over and curious how the scale is going to treat me... LOL!! I do Zumba 4x/week for 60 min each and am starting resistance training this week. I think I'll need to bump up closer…
  • Thanks for sharing your personal information with me. It's helpful, at least, to know I'm not alone. I track my food on mfp but need to be better about putting notes about how I'm feeling (flares, etc) as well.
  • Amen, Ladies! My name is Daisy and I work full time M-Th 10 (or more) hour days - at a desk or running to meetings. Loved the comment from someone earlier that carrying the laptop is weight lifting! I have two little girls ages 3 & 6. I go to the gym 3-4x/week and they usually go with me. I totally related to ajcrider -…
  • I'm certainly no expert - but I've been researching Paleo/Primal eating habits and found there is a group on MFP. This may be a great group for your to get involved with. I'd put a link here but frankly I don't know how. I have two auto immune disorders so I've been exploring as well. Best of luck to you.
  • My hubby and I are starting today. :) I'm open to being friends with anyone who knows more than me about this - which is pretty much everyone. I had been limiting carbs anyway but now my hubby's buddy's are on board so we're jumping in. I cleaned out the pantry today. My kids are a little freaked out. LOL! We'll keep dairy…
  • Feel free to add me. I work full time and have two young girls (3 & 6). I finally figured out that a few times a week, I just HAVE to go to the gym. They come with me and play in the kids area. Sometimes they complain but in the end they have fun and it all works out. I agree with dsak - there are days it is exhausting but…
  • Hi! and welcome to MFP. I've been here since Aug 2011 and love it. Great community and lots of support. Feel free to add me if you like. :)
  • Feel free to add me. I've been on since August and have lost 29. The site is awesome and lots of great motivators. I log in daily but just don't have time to comment on everything on the news feed but still appreciate having friends to support!
  • I'm so excited so many folks have joined recently and the support you will all get here on MFP. I've been on since August 2011. I log daily and go through the news feed. I try to comment but can't comment on everyone's. Anyone is welcome to add me. I figure the more support we have-the better!
  • I started in Aug 2011 at 273. I'm now at 246... not where I exactly wanted to be but I'm not letting it get me down. It didn't take overnight for the weight to come on; it won't go away that way either. :) I'm in this for the loooong haul and making the lifestyle changes that will stick around. Anyone is welcome to add me.…
  • What's holding me back? Well, I used to make a lot of excuses why I couldn't exercise. I'm busy - yeah - who isn't? I have young kids - yup - and they need me to be an example. I'm tired - duh - because I'm busy and have two kids! The list goes on. Since joining the gym in August, I not only haven't skipped a class, I've…
