AMEN! Wish I'd stayed in shape, time FLEW. I'm 51. Ack!

I couldn't find my house keys. I kept patting down my pockets but couldn't feel them because I'm wearing jeans from March and they are way baggy. Six months ago I couldn't have even fit my house keys in a front pocket of my jeans. Yay me!

Never. I eat the same as ever, just smaller portions. I do like green peppers more now than I was a kid, but that's it.

Truth. Every decade that passes this becomes more and more evident. I'm 51, and at this point I give about zero f**ks. Liberating to say the least; wish I was of that mindset in my twenties.

I'm not a fan of rules. I just drink whenever I'm thirsty. Most of my food contains water too, so I stay hydrated. My pee said so. :)

Homemade dal, onion & green tomato stew, topped with a dab of onion-chive aioli made with greek yogurt. Mmm.

Stay At Home Mom. Guessing based on context.

I weighed food and logged daily for six months. I'm still in deficit mode, but experimented with not logging or weighing for the past two weeks and continued losing weight. So... I'm not going to return to it unless I feel like it or need to (weight loss slows, need a portion size refresher course, or macro tracking). This…

I have successful spent two weeks without weighing/logging my food and I'm still losing at a steady rate. I'm relying on what I've learned about portion sizes during the past six months of daily logging. Will return to logging if/when needed. Learning how much I should be eating is a definite NSV for me!

A shout out to Lyndhurst. Way to represent; you look great!

Lol. Awesome.

That's not insanity, that's called practice! :)

Before I started to lose weight I felt anxious and/or depressed whenever I had a meal, because I was acutely aware that I was overweight and unhappy about it. It just dawned on me that eating is now anxiety free; likely because I'm on a downward trend and feel confident in my eating habits. Bottom line, I am a happier…

Thought there might be more Holy Grail fans out there. Too 1970's for MFP?

I don't know about streaming services, but https://www.fitnessblender.com/ has great videos for all fitness levels. You can find a lot on YouTube also.

Yeah, I log daily but let things average out over a week or so. I'm not one to feel like I "have" to do anything. So, I'll enjoy the holiday events to the fullest, but the days in between won't be an eat-fest! :)

Depends on how good the coffee tastes. Coffee from the Beanery in San Francisoco I'll drink black, but to an average run of the mill coffee like Dunkin' Donuts I'll add some 1/2 and 1/2 with sugar.

That you can lose 30 lbs and look the same in photos, in the mirror, and to everyone else apparently. 181 to 151, and in much smaller clothing. Weird. (shrugs)

I saw that article but I don't get it, having never gained weight over the holidays. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years... that's only three days of potential over eating in my case, and I can't imagine stuffing my face in three meals with enough cals over maintenance to gain anything.

Truth. I read a MFP post where the woman OP asked what men preferred, and holy cr*p, talk a bout a pile-on. I believe in the end she was judged to be too worried about what men thought, had low self-esteem, was living her life for others, and on and on. Many MFP users seem to love a good pile-on, why not add a double…

I've never had a pickup line used on me, but I when I was in college I sidled up to a cute guy at a party, looked at him coyly and asked in as sexy a voice as I could manage.... "Wanna make out?". He did. We did. Score! We dated for four years. :)

I no longer look like a stuffed sausage in my motorcycle jacket. :)

Weight goes up and down. It's just the nature of the beast. Here's my daily weight chart... roller coaster. It's the trend that matters.

Dunno, I don't get discouraged by what random people say because their opinion means nothing to me. I've been known to challenge people I think are being intentional jerks because I don't like jerks, but that is more for my own entertainment.

I haven't seen a compendium on MFP, but many universities have (or at least had) free guest-borrower privileges you can apply for. When I stopped university teaching I did this so I'd still have access to a university library and the online journals they subscribe to.

I'm at my desk before dawn so if I only put in an eight hour day, I'm leaving the office by 2:30 or 3:00 in the afternoon. So yes, people who eat around 7pm can also be gainfully employed. :)
