Really silly, but.... my trainers are dirty! Like actually used, worn in, dirty. I've had them for a couple of years in my bedroom, looking beautiful and pristine and clean and very clearly never used. Now they're a tribute to all the hard work I'm putting in, the mud, the scratches, and probably the stink35

Yesterday - coworker passed me then stopped "Hey D - yeah man, you're losin' some weight!! I can see it!"
Today getting coffee - another coworker: "Darin - wow, man, you're getting thin!"

Getting into a 14 pant with no W because I started in what should have been a 22w but I decided to diet instaed of buying the 22w.17

I've had a Twix bar in my desk for over a month and have not longer have a strong desire to eat it. I originally bought it thinking I'd have it there if I needed to celebrate something or wanted a quick fix. Been realizing lately that 1) I don't need to celebrate with food... or at least not with candy, and 2) a quick fix is much more likely to be the apple or clementine I carry in my bag.18

Today on my lunch walk, I added in some sprints. I managed to run about 1/4 of the time I spent walking. This is huge because I have always hated running, haven't really done any running in 20 years. I have a goal to actually run a 7k next September, so I am slowly adding the running in. I hadn't planned on adding any running in until I got below 200 pounds. I saw someone else mention they were running 5k and they were over 200 pounds. I figured that meant I probably could too and I was just making excuses up. Go me!24

Great advice on here. For high 40s/low 50s, I wouldn't even need gloves or a hat, but it depends on how warm you get (and how used to the cold you are). I live in Vermont, so I've gone out running in as cold as 15 degrees last January! I wore a long sleeve shirt, a fleece, sweat pants, a scarf, hat and mittens (they warm up your hands better). And I was fine! I went running last night when it was in the 30s and I wore leggings, long sleeve shirt, hat, and gloves. My arms got a bit cold toward the end, but I wouldn't have wanted to wear anything more.
All this to say, remember what you wear when you run and what the temp is. You will find out what works for you People around here like saying that there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes.
Thank you too! I will definitely make note of what works and what temp it was. I just walked an hour in the rain this morning, and it was fun because what I was wearing kept me warm and dry. Let's hope whatever I wear tomorrow keeps me comfortable and I can have a fun run.3 -
I went out today without lunch Stupid of me but I didn't have time as had to get to the next city 40 miles away for a hospital appointment. Anyway, I got to the appointment early so did a bit of shopping beforehand and I ended up with a load of junk food - impulse purchases as I was hungry, namely a bag of mini-biscuits (15 packs in the bag) plus multi-packs of chocolate (7 large bars).
The NSV is that I did not eat ANY of them. I got home with the packs all intact. They are still intact now and my children were highly amused at my tale of going from shop to shop buying this stuff because I really wanted it but then not eating it. They think that I'm mad (little do they know!).16 -
Today our HR person stopped me and asked me what I was doing to lose so much weight! I"m at thirty pounds lots and I feel/feel like I look exactly the same. It's nice to get some recognition. Yesterday, a co-worker told me I was "melting away". Gotta say, it's getting to my head a little bit.16

I do the same thing! Especially when I see something new I want to try. Sometimes I corner the kids when they have one so I can try a bite to see if a whole piece will be "worth" the calories.2 -
The boy I married 32 years ago drove all the way to my office on a friday in heavy traffic to bring me a new pair of gym shoes he thought I would "dig". If I could explain what a phenom this was....you would not believe me. I think he likes what's happening to this bod.41

I walked out of the gym today and saw that someone had parked their pickup way too close to my car. I thought to myself oh yeh, how am I going to squeeze into my car without smashing my door against the pickup? Guess what....I had no problem getting into my car and didn't even come close to hitting his vehicle with my door!22

Tried out Insanity Asylum today and got through it, haha.11

Love this - sounds like the voice I periodically hear inside my head.8 -

I'm on medication for depression and anxiety. My therapist relayed to me yesterday that my doctor, who prescribed these meds, wants me to test my levels because I have lost "such a phenomenal amount of weight." At the time I nodded thinking "okay need to schedule that appointment" but now I'm realizing this may end up being a NSV. Lower med doses! Never never thought that would be a thing.
I love all these posts! I check every day or so and its such a positive thing!26 -
I did it! Ran the 5k this morning in 37:44. Was really happy to have run most of it under 12min/mi pace but the last .5 was all uphill, and I slowed down. Still very happy with 12:09/mi average as it's still faster than anything else I've recorded.
It was 40 degrees and slightly raining and it still felt fantastic.29 -
I had to buy a belt at the beginning of October and was using the notch closest to the end. Well, as of this morning, I'm 3 notches in!14

I couldn't find my house keys. I kept patting down my pockets but couldn't feel them because I'm wearing jeans from March and they are way baggy. Six months ago I couldn't have even fit my house keys in a front pocket of my jeans. Yay me!20

AMEN! Wish I'd stayed in shape, time FLEW. I'm 51. Ack!2 -

LOL - I've found sort of the opposite: My keys used to stay in the capacious pocket of my size 14W (or bigger) jeans. But the pockets in my size 4 misses jeans are so much smaller, even in the same brands, that the keys keep working their way out. I have to attach them to a belt loop, or I lose them!7
