  • Here is another IG that I'm a fan of. She just changed her IG name recently as it was fitbyfifty before as that was her goal. Very inspirational, keeps it simple and works out at home. https://instagram.com/fitoverfifty.us?igshid=1lm8m2uiyfulr
  • Yep, a few of the shops here have taken to closing one day a week just to keep up with repair and maintenance work. I'm still amazed by the amount of people that don't wear helmets though.
  • You just need to have Garmin Connect accounts.
  • I've been using the app since quarantine and I love it. I've always enjoyed indoor non-dance spin classes. I thought about a trainer for my bike but I don't think I would enjoy it because the virtual ride aspect does not look fun too me. I love the music of spin class. Would I personally buy a Peloton bike, no. I would…
  • I've heard good things about the Sunny bikes since this pandemic started. I'm currently using a Lemond Pro by Hoist like @sgt1372 I'm only borrowing it but I really like it. And it came from a boutique gym so I know it gets consistent use.
  • Are you on the Blue plan? I've do both MFP and WW. Currently do WW. It works for me because I tend to get caught up with numbers. Like another poster mentioned you could track both and see how it pans out.
  • I'm loving my additional saddle time. I do wish more of the newbies would wear helmets!
  • Peloton is awesome and free for 90 days. There is so much more to the app than cycling.
  • Same. I borrowed a gym bike for quarantine and I'm loving the Peloton app! For the OP the classes geared toward training as if you were outdoor is something you might want to check out, pro cyclist or power zone. I tend to filter by the hardest classes and wear an HRM to monitor my heart rate.
  • I like to see my improvements in my times on different segments and by riding some of the same trails that are areas I used to walk that now I don't have to come off my bike for. Some days I think I suck and yet I will have a PR.
  • @Lastchancetochange, if you're not already doing so I suggest tracking your rides in Strava. It's a great way to gauge your improvements on trails you frequent.
  • Cute puppies! Also a fan of Jenny Ford/Freedom Fit. You can also access her content on her Roku channel. Right now I'm loving the Peloton app. It's free for 90 days and it's so much more than spinning.
  • I rented kettlebells for quarantine and I am afraid of damage as well. I actually keep them outside on my patio. I put a towel down for deadlift and slower movements. For swings I'm only doing those outside, patio or garage.
  • I've done both. I've had success with both. I spend time on both MFP and WW. I'm currently tracking with WW right now. Counting calories makes me a little obsessive and points do not. There are three different plans. The plan I'm on most clean, I'll call them, foods are free. This is working for me. I don't go to meetings,…
  • For myself improving my cardio, cross training. Nutrition and hydration. And like others said ride as much as you can. I have dropped 26 lbs in the last few months and it's made a difference as well. Just in the last few weeks with quarantine I've seen improvements in both my road and MTB just because I've been able to…
  • I date the back and the top of my medal holder has hooks for the bibs. They go in a plastic sleeve.
  • I'm a Garmin fan. Their products last and their customer service is great. Walmart sells an ad on warranty if you buy it there. I had to utilize it when my boyfriend's Fitbit died. If you buy it at Costco your membership is your warranty.
  • I have four gym memberships. One I pay month to month so I was due about the time this happened so will pay when we start up again. They are offering Zoom and classes at the park but I've only participated in one session. If I were doing more I would feel like I need to contribute. Classpass has frozen the fees. My work…
  • Jumping rope is awesome but check out the local smaller gyms in your area. Quite a few of mine are posting free workouts via their social media and YouTube. Peloton is offering free 90 days as well.
  • Contact some of your smaller local gyms. Mine are renting out weights, kettlebells, bikes, rowers. There is also Target, the sporting goods stores, Walmart, Bodyrocktv Website had options available yesterday.
  • I like New Balance as well. Luckily I have access to an outlet. I definitely need to try my shoes on. I wish I could just pick up a cute pair at Marshall's, etc. It cost a little more but the shoes I've bought at my local running store I've had best luck with. They seem to be able to really pinpoint my needs and I am not a…
  • I can barely hit 8 and that is with a morning workout. I'm on Garmin under qwikhnds if you want to add me.
  • I have been to a UFC gym and they can vary in size and what they offer. I thought they were fairly priced for what you get. That probably depends on location as well. I would check out the one in your area. Some offer small group training as well as their boxing, cycle, or fitness classes. Another option would be Groupon…
  • I have not tried it but I Googled the image because I was curious. Based on the pictures it seems to mimic the exercises I've done in pilates. Do you have pilates studios where you live?
  • The last time I used 3 lb weights was in physical therapy for my shoulder. My purse weighs more than that 😂 I agree with the other posters as far as lifting heavy.
  • I follow them on FB but I hate asking for money and I'm already signed up for MS ride this year so that's the only fundraising I want to do. Great cause though!
  • Another vote for Garmin. I have a Vivoactive HR and it is definitely chunky but I've gotten used to it and wear it 24/7. I really like their newer offerings but I can't justify the price right now because mine does everything I need it to. When I was looking I did go to REI to try different watches on because they seemed…
  • 2041 It really does become a habit.
  • Tried it a couple times at different gyms. It's not for me. But I have plenty of friends that love it.
  • Another vote for Garmin. They make great products. I have the Vivoactive HR. It's an older model but has all the requirements you mentioned. Garmin also has great customer service.
