Anyone care to share daily eats?
I’d love to see what others are eating throughout the day. I’m hoping it can spark some healthy eating ideas. Anyone willing to share their diary? Mine is open to anyone that would like to see. Thanks

Steps hurting gains?
I'm in the process of trying to gain muscle. Eating at a very little surplus. Lifting 4x a week and one week of kickboxing. I don't do any other cardio, but I do walk an average of 12-13 steps a day. Is that hurting any gains?

4% cottage cheese. Good or bad?
I've been eating this as a side lately. 150 cals and 18 grams of protein so I assume this js a great snack to compliment my lifting plan That said, does it hurt that I am choosing the 4% over the less fat versions? I can't stand the taste of anything under 4 Thanks

Intermittent fasting 2x week
I've been reading a lot about this versus doing a bulk cut. Has anyone tried it had success with this? Would this plan seem viable? Fast till 1 pm 2x a week on my non lift days - I will do cardio kickboxing these days Lifting 4x a week eating at 2500 calories. And off day eat at maintenance. Thoughts? I'm 5'9'm 150 12.5%…

Body fat increase
I am starting to up my calories and increase weight I'm lifting - though it's been a small increase there - and I noticed I gained 5 pounds and by body fat went from 10.9 to 12.5. Is this normal for someone trying to gain more muscle in a 3 month period?

A calorie is a calorie????
I keep reading that at the end of the day calories and not what they come from is what determines weight gain and or loss. Of course I get some foods are much better nutritious choices than others. But when it comes to pure weight is there really no difference? For instance I'm eating a quest protein cookie. 250 calories…

Gaining muscle without a calorie surplus?
I'm lifting 5x a week and have upped my calorie intake to about 2800-3000 a day. This is about maintance for me. However when I factor in the actual exercise and averaging 13,000 steps a day it usually puts me at a calorie deficit. That said, do I need to factor that in to the equation and aim for even more cals to support…

Days off?
I'm on a 3 day split lifting program. In addition I do a weekly, 45-minute bootcamp class on which I don't lift. And once a week I do cardio kickboxing and don't usually lift that day either. So, basically I'm on my 3-day split 5 days a week. I don't have any exclusive rest day though I consider kickboxing and the bootcamp…

Cardio kickboxing on lifting days?
In trying to some cardio kickboxing in 2-3x a week. In addition to my 4-day week lifting this is the only form of cardio I do. Can't stand treadmills. I lifted in the am. Is it okay to do a cardio kickboxing session in evening? Don't want to hurt recovery or gains but also want to keep metabolism and heart rate going.…

Always hungry
Over the last few months I've stepped up my strength training a little. Just a little more volume but nothing drastic. But even having upped my calories to around 2500 a day I notice I'm always hungry. Last year at his time when I was focusing on cutting I was at 1800 a day and never really so ravenous. Could the change in…

Stomach bug effect?
I have a nasty stomach bug and have zero appetite since last night. Basically had half a banana and that's it. The crazy part of me thinks my body will now slow metabolism to make up for not eating Am I crazy?

Flu and missing gym
I think I have the flu. On New Year's Eve and all but I'm more worried about how much time I will miss from gym. I've been doing week of a new 12 week lifting program. Will 5-7 days off ruin all my progress? Very worried.

Working out with a cold?
Okay to go to gym and lift if I have a cold and sore throat? I have the energy to go. Just not sure if this will drain me and cause me to get sicker.

How much cardio is too much?
Trying to gain some muscle but I also want to be careful not to gain fat and I want to be heart healthy. I do cardio kickboxing 4x a week and run 3 miles once a week. Not much for most runners but I'm not a runner by any means. Do I need to cut any of this cardio? I also lift 4-5x a week and eat 2400 calories a day. 5'9"…

Stupid question. But...
Would it be unwise to lift two times today? I did legs this morning. And I'm traveling for work with not much to do tonight. And seeing as I'll be leaving early tomorrow and missing my lift day could I do shoulders and back tonight?

Dealing with "You're too skinny" comments?
I've heard this from friends, family and co-workers the past few months. At first it's flattering to know my efforts are producing noticeable results but after a while I'm getting sick of it. Not to mention I am trying to put on muscle so heading I'm super skinny is actually insulting. Anyone else experience similar…

Halo Top vs Enlightened?
I'm curious if anyone has tried both of these protein ice creams and which one you all prefer? I find Enlightened to be much closer to the real thing. And the macros are pretty decent. It helps my sweet cravings. What do you guys prefer?

First gain in 6 months. Good or bad?
Just saw I gained 2 pounds since my last weigh in 2 weeks ago. I already have gone way beyond my goal having lost 35 pounds since January. I have been lifting a little heavier and eating a little more but still pretty clean. I just wonder if it's muscle gain or fat gain? Or both?

Body fat scale?
Now that I am aiming to maintain my weight. Actually looking to add some muscle so I'm not so focused on looking at pounds anymore. I am focused on reducing body fat. Does anyone have any good scales that are accurate at measuring this? I was contemplating the FitBit scale that synchs with the app. Any thoughts? Thanks

HIIT before or after lifting?
I'm doing 25 minutes of HIIT 3x a week. Lifting 4x a week. Would you recommend doing HIIT before or after lifting? Thanks

Depressed over cheat day
After a wedding last night I feel pretty crappy that I've undid 4 months of work and progress with the amount of alcohol and crap I ate. While I know one day of crappy eating physically won't do anything (I hope?) I can't help feeling like a failure. To put it in perspective in addition to taking 4 shots of whiskey and…

Look at daily calories or weekly?
I've been eating under calorie goal this week. Not including my daily workouts. This weekend I have a wedding and j am assuming I'll go over my daily goal there. That said. Is it okay to go over goal one day when I've been below the other 6 days? Thanks

Justify craving?
I've been pretty good not eating crap but I'm suddenly craving a hero. But just knowing hero bread is all starchy carbs is making me rethink it. But could having that throw me off? I always try and keep my carbs load even on workout days Im sure I sound crazy to some.

Maintaining. Good or bad?
I've reached my goal of 163 3 weeks ago. Since then I've maintained. But mentally seeing a loss was my reward knowing what I'm doing is working. I know it's crazy but I get upset not seeing any more loss even though I'm maintaining. Im also lifting so I assume I may even see gains? I'm just trying to get over the mental…

Working out after being sick
I have strep throat which I got Tuesday. Currently on antibiotics since yesterday but I still few super achey and lethargic. I'm hoping to feel myself by Friday. If so, too soon to hit the gym? I can't imagine getting it if bed now let alone going to gym.

Dried cranberries
I had a salad with grilled chicken tonight. It also had dried cranberries. I logged it and was shocked to see how much sugar was in them. And this was only maybe 2-3 tablespoons worth. I've eliminated processed sugar from my diet as much as possible and usually have under 30 total grams a day but this is going M to push me…

Swimming?
I'm looking to add some cardio to my strength training. I hate. Hate running and treadmills. I was thinking of doing swimming. 20 Minutes maybe 3x a week. I assume that is good. But is it also effective to do laps doing a breast stroke My form for regular swimming is not very good.

Pack pain
I think I pulled something. Or have a knot in upper back. Reared Monday and Tuesday. It was very uncomfortable and painful yesterday. Today it's better. Slightly dull and sore. But I want to go to my bootcamp. Think that's dumb? I will be careful but I don't want to rest for 3 straight days.
