Flu and missing gym

I think I have the flu. On New Year's Eve and all but I'm more worried about how much time I will miss from gym. I've been doing week of a new 12 week lifting program. Will 5-7 days off ruin all my progress? Very worried.

To be honest, progress in the gym comes over months and years. Missing a week is a blip not to be concerned about unless you are making your living from your lifting and you event is in the next couple weeks.
I'm dealing with this now also. Take care of yourself.6 -
I feel for you, I got the flu 2 weeks before Christmas. I ended up out of the gym for 2 weeks, plus went on vacation for the next 2 weeks also no gym. I look at it this way, it is a lifestyle not a race, a week or two here and there means absolutely nothing in the long term. Get feeling better and get back in the gym then. Don't rush it for a couple reasons, 1 make everyone in the gym sick, 2 if you wear yourself down before you are fully recovered the flu could come back.
