funny story from my workout today
Math is important when lifting. I'm feeling tired today so decided to deload squats to 80# (75% of my working weight). Got out the calculator, did 80-45 (for the bar weight)=35. Got under the bar and thought, "wow, I must be REALLY tired, because this weight feels even heavier than the 105# from last time!" On my 4th…

Pregnancy Dreams
I always have action/adventure/spy dreams during pregnancy, which I think is AWESOME! I'm always in the middle of the action, big belly and all, lol! My dreams feel like I'm watching a movie and it's always a little disappointing when I wake up. Anyone else out there with unusual dreams?

workout clothes
For those of you who are trying to exercise through your pregnancy: have you found any maternity workout clothes? Or do you just buy a bigger-than-usual size of regular workout ones? Mine are way too tight around my tummy and it's hard to motivate myself to exercise if I have to wear regular maternity clothes!

pregnancy workout videos?
I haven't been 'formally' exercising at all lately, due to my extreme exhaustion/nausea, but things are s.l.o.w.l.y. improving and I'd like to get back on the wagon as soon as possible. I have The Big Book of Exercises for Women, which has great strength workouts for each trimester and I'm thinking I might just do some…

post-pregnancy success story!
Some background: When my first daughter was 11-12 months old in Dec 2010, I was in the best physical shape of my life. I had weighed less before then, but I didn't exercise, so I'm sure my bf% was pretty high. So, through exercise and eating less (loosely following WW), I had barely lost the 'baby weight' by the time she…

EM2WL Success
After reading through some of the threads on here this afternoon, it is apparent that people with success at EM2WL aren't posting about it. Including myself! I added to a thread this morning about my success so far, but figured it was worth a new thread just in case people didn't click on the other one (mainly since the…

cookie dough dip
I discovered this blog today, and have made this recipe for after (with?) dinner tonight! You're welcome. http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2011/05/23/want-to-eat-an-entire-bowl-of-cookie-dough/

menopause and eating more?
I was talking to my mom about em2wl over vacation and she seemed really interested but doubtful about whether it works if you are going through menopause. She's also on medcation for rheumatoid arthritis and so that causes weight gain as well. Does anyone have personal experience with either of these scenarios? Or have any…

results after a diet break!
I just wanted to share a little about my experience with EM2WL in case some of you are on the fence or needing some encouragement! Eating more calories really does work! I've been part of this group since May, but never did a VLCD in the first place, and have been 'eating more' since March. I went to 15% cut from TDEE, but…

Advice re: sister?
This Sunday, we'll be heading 'home' to visit family and I'm wondering about talking to my almost-20 year old sister about losing weight. Part of me says 'no way, she won't want to hear it, you should just not broach the subject in case you hurt her feelings' but part of me says 'I care about her and want her to be…

body fat %
Today I measured and decided to enter the info into fat2fitradio's body fat % chart to see my progress. According to that, in the past month I've gone from 37.8% to 37%. (I know, really high still!) Is this a good rate or is it too slow/fast? Apparently I lost 2 lbs of fat (and my scale loss in the month is 2 pounds also);…

getting a cold :-(
Should I keep lifting/exercising the next few days or rest?

strength victory
So this might seem kind of silly, but I'm going to post about it anyway. Last night, my hubby and I were in bed 'arguing' about who was going to go swap the laundry before going to sleep (I know, we lead an exciting life!) and, in the process, I pushed him (trying to roll him off the bed).......to which he said "wow,…

help! my story/dilemma
Hi everyone! I seem to be skilled at writing threads to which nobody responds, so I'm hoping that won't be the case this time. I'm new to the group and would like some help in figuring out what stage I should be in and how to make sure I've got the right caloric goals. I'm not the typical 1200-calorie/day person (I can't…

intro + friends!
Hi there! I'm a brand-new member in this group and thought I'd say hi. I, like most people new to the 'fuel your bodies' mindset, have a few questions regarding whether or not my numbrs are correct. I'll have to come back later with all my figures, though, because I just finished exercising (need a shower, lol) and my kids…

no sleep = no weight loss?
I've heard that not getting enough sleep can cause weight gain for a multitude of reasons. My daily calorie net goal is 1575 (based on working out my bmr and tdee), which I regularly meet. I exercise regularly (which I should think wouldn't really influence MORE weight loss, simply because it's already factored into my…

help figuring out the right caloric goal setting?
Sorry this is going to be long, but I'd rather try to give all the info up-front. I'm trying to figure out the right number of calories (just like everyone else on this site) and how to best track them. I fell off the food-recording wagon for a while, so if you look at my diary, you can only go back as far as this past…

13.1
This past Sunday, I completed my first half-marathon! I gave birth to twins via c-section in September, when my older daughter was 19 months old. My doctor gave me permission to start exercising in December. In January, when the twins were 3.5 months old, I decided that if I could survive each day with 3 kids under 2, I…

mom of twins trying to lose weight
Hi there! I figured I should introduce myself now that I've been on mfp for a while. I rarely come to the message boards simply due to time (I'm a mom of 5 month old twins and a 2 year old). But anyway, I have a goal to lose about 20 lbs through exercise primarily, since I'm breastfeeding the babies and don't want to…
