funny story from my workout today

Math is important when lifting. I'm feeling tired today so decided to deload squats to 80# (75% of my working weight). Got out the calculator, did 80-45 (for the bar weight)=35. Got under the bar and thought, "wow, I must be REALLY tired, because this weight feels even heavier than the 105# from last time!" On my 4th (slow, hard) rep, I realized that 35x2 is 70 so I messed up with my math somewhere, since I was supposed to be at 80 total. Yeah, I left out the crucial ÷2 for each end of the bar! So I squatted 1x5 at 115#. Oops! Then I deloaded to 17.5# on each side as I'd meant to do . ;-)

Moral of the story: check your math!

Do you even math brah? haha

You posted this just as I was driving myself insane with my 5/3/1 calculations.
