Target weight
I set my target weight at 234 partly because I was between 16.5 and 17 stone when I was at my fittest, and partly because on the standard BMI scale 6 foot 2 obese cut off is 233. I have just done my lean body mass calculations on fat2fit and 15% body fat is 231lbs, and my lean body mass is 196lbs, which just happens to be…

Coconut muffin - 100 cal
15g Coconut flour (I used Let's Do Organic) 25ml skimmed milk 1 medium egg white 1/4 tsp baking powder 1tsp sweetener mix everything together in a mug and put in microwave for 1 min or so. If you have the calories a little nut butter on the muffin would be great.

Leg extension help
I have just reintroduced leg extensions back into my routine. I was trying to do 2 sets of 12 reps at 30kg (66lb) and I was struggling after 8-10 reps, however, the start was very easy. I decided to see what happened if I increased the weight. At 60kg (132lb) I was still doing 8-10 reps before I started to struggle and it…

Mythical BMR
Why do so many people say you should not eat under your BMR? Some even try and get slightly scientific saying that the BMR shows how many calories your body needs to survive if in a coma. 1. People who log on here are not in a coma, we are moving about so burning more calories. 2. BMR is an estimate. Just look at the…

egg white powder to whisk up
I have just tried Dr Oetker dried egg white powder it does make really fluffy whisked egg, but I am looking for a bigger tub of powder as I use a lot of whisked egg white. Quite a few of the protein powder websites sell powdered egg white. Is this the same sort of stuff, does it whisk up to stiff peaks?

USA calorie free food labels
What does calorie free mean in the USA? I was looking for a good place to buy defatted peanut flour and stumbled onto a few American sites and noticed quite a lot of diet foods were advertised as calorie free, but they have ingredients in them that have calories. The calorie free noodles and whipped peanut butter spread…

100 day progress (pics)
I started changing the way I eat and exercise on the 5th Jan 2012. After many failed attempts to be healthier I looked at what I had done in the past and why they resulted in me going back to my unhealthy ways. I came up with the following. Body fat calipers
I am trying to work out what a good target body weight would be, and have come to the conclusion that the best would be based on my lean body mass. With currently being obese there is a lot of me to fit into the calipers, so I am wondering which ones would be best for the larger person. Also, suggestions of good web sites…

Couch to 5K, my story
At the start of the year I did next to no exercise and weighed in at 396lb. It was time that I started to sort myself out, this time my head was in the right place. I worked out what I was doing wrong, why I stopped my weight loss attempts before and worked out a fad free plan to get back in shape. When I started exercise…

Power plates
I have recently got my routine changed at the gym, it now includes a couple of exercises on a power plate. Does the power plate actually help or is it just a new version of the vibrating belt people used to wobble there bums with.

Eat more to lose weight, please explain
There are so many posts here that tell people to eat more to lose weight as they are not eating enough to lose weight. How on earth does this happen? Looking at it from a mathematical point of view there should be a graph of weight loss v's calories difference. If you are on a very low calorie diet and not losing weight…

Protein that fluffs
I am looking at getting some protein powder to make fluff. I intend to just use the protein powder, ice and skimmed milk. So far I have read that ON Casein is a good option and the flavours are nice. I have also seen that Syntha-6 has loads of flavours, but I am not sure if it makes good fluff. Does Syntha-6 make good…

When I enter in swimming on the tracker I am not sure what the pace is for fast and moderate effort. most of the time I am doing a rate of 10 lengths (250m) in 6 mins.
