What does calorie free mean in the USA?
I was looking for a good place to buy defatted peanut flour and stumbled onto a few American sites and noticed quite a lot of diet foods were advertised as calorie free, but they have ingredients in them that have calories. The calorie free noodles and whipped peanut butter spread are two examples.
Is there a trick allowed in the USA to tweak the calorie content in the food labels?

If there are less than five calories *per serving*, the food can be labeled calorie free.
