RUNNERS and DOGS...
It seem like everytime I go out to run a DIFFERENT dog approaches or chases me and it drives me nuts!!! Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, I'm just leery of dogs I'm not familiar with. One day I was running with my dog and another dog that was not on a leash attacked him!! Luckily, she stopped when I yelled at her. Shortly…

Fashion experts (advice on leggings)
I know, I'm a little behind but I have never worn leggings. I'm going to a Reba concert tomorrow and I bought a new tan/light brown, long-sleeved a little above knee length dress that I think looks really cute with my brown cowboy boots. My question is...should I wear leggings?? If so, what color? I need fashioin advice!!…

Low-carb vegetarian recipes
I am looking for new dinner ideas that are both low-carb and vegetarian. I do eat eggs and fish occasionally and am not opposed to meat substitutes, but I want this to be something my meat-eating husband and preschool-age son would also enjoy. I would love a good casserole dish. If any of you have any good recipes, please…

Guilty pleasure
After a good, long workout today, I treated myself to one of my favorites: peanut butter and pancake syrup mixed together. Now I know this isn't healthy so I do not need anyone telling me that, but it got me wondering what your guilty/strange pleasure or treat is???

Burnt out on logging...
Ok guys, I have a confession..I'm getting super burnt out on logging calories. I've been at this fairly consistently for about 4 months, I've lost all but 3-5 lbs of my weight (depending on the day) and these past couple weeks have been like torture logging my food. Not because I'm eating bad, just because I think I need a…

BAREFOOT SHOES
Ok, my husband has some five fingers and really loves them. Now, I'm thinking about jumping on the banwagon. I wanted a little assistance from some fellow runners who run in barefoot shoes though. There are some merrels out there that I'm also interested in. Here is the site of the two merrels I'm interested in (only the…

Health and Exercise Science Majors (or similar)
I'm going back to school to pursue my Bachelor's in Sports and Health Science and I was curious to hear from others who are either going to school for this or who have graduated with this type of degree. I would like to have some friends who have been or are going through the same studies I will be going through and I also…

Coffee before run=No good (for me anyways)
I've been noticing a trend for quite some time now. If I go on a run in the a.m. and have coffee before that, I get this really weird, weak, exhausted feeling to the point of having to stop and walk OR sit down until the feelig passes. Now, I ran 8 miles over the weekend and did NOT have this feeling and had, for me, a…

Easy Vegetarian Cookbook
I get a lot of recipes from allrecipes and just online in general, but I was wondering if any of you know of a great vegetarian cookbook that has relatively easy recipes. :flowerforyou:

VEGETARIANS and PROTEIN
Hi fellow veggies! I had a hard time getting enough protein when I first made the switch, but I've gotten a lot better. Once I was successful meeting the protein requirements MFP gave me, I increased my protein intake by 5%. I recently increased it again to 10% because I'm really wanting to tone up. I'm finding it very…

SAHM- lightly active or moderately active??
I'm a stay at home mom of a 2 1/2 year old and know I'm up and down a lot throughout the day, up and down stairs, picking up, doing dishes, laundry, etc....probably the basic for most SAHMs. So, I'm wondering what other SAHMs have their fitness level set at.. I currently have it set at lightly active, but I've wondered…

I just signed up for my first half marathon and was wondering if there are any more MFP users doing the same one. Maybe we could get some kind of support system going =D

To pump or not to pump...with a cold
My son has had a cold. I woke up this morning and can feel it coming on. I started on Zicam to hopefully shorten the length of it. I do not like to change my workout schedule and today is Body Pump at the gym. Would you go to Body Pump if you felt a cold coming on? I'm also supposed to run 6 miles tomorrow for my half…

Trouble staying under 1300 calories!!
Ok, so to lose a lb a week, I'm supposed to be eating somewhere between 1200-1275(?) calories. I can do this on SOME days, but definitely not most. To lose 0.9 lb per week, I should be eating at 1325, which is what I just changed it to. As my diary says, this is also pretty hard for me to stay under. I have a major sweet…

Link for EGG SUBSTITUTES
I came across this link and thought some of you may appreciate it as much as I do. I'm a vegetarian and although I will eat certain foods with eggs cooked in them, I will NOT personally make anything that requires eggs. Now, I can still make it, but use the egg substitute. SO excited!!…

BODY PUMP QUESTION
I've decided to start going back to body pump...I love cardio, hate lifting weights, but I saw my arms jiggling last night at Zumba and made my mind up! Do you think going twice a week will do anything for toning? (I am not a do it myself kind of person, unless I'm running, so body pump class is a must!)

Runners...question??
I have a question for you runners out there. I am running in my first 10K tomorrow. I've been a member of MFP for 3 weeks or so and I've lost about 4 of those, only 6 more to go to get to my goal weight!.. anyways, I've always heard that the day before a long run or race, you should increase your calories. Is this still…

Some honest struggles..
I've been having some feelings of inadequacy lately and I'm wondering if others are dealing with some of the same issues. In the few weeks I've been on MFP I have received nothing but support and encouragement from my MFP friends. Everyone has been great and I think I'm doing well with the goals I have set myself. The…

Going over on carbs, but not on calories..
I've only been a member for 3 days, but I've already discovered one of my problems. I'm going over on carbs, but not on calories. Does anyone else have this problem and how much does it affect your weight loss? I'm eating pretty healthy..I don't get it!

Looking for friends!
Hi everyone! I'm looking for women around my age (I'm 26) to have as friends on this site. I'm new to it and would like some support. I'm also looking for other vegetarians, but don't mind if you eat meat. All of my friends and family do :) send me a request if you're looking for a friend!

Introducing myself...
Hi, everyone! I heard about this website from a friend and I decided to try it out as I have been very disappointed in how my fall clothes from last year are fitting me...or shall I say NOT fitting me. I've had a lot of lifestyle changes in the past few years. For one, I had my son two and a half years ago. I lost down…
