Gaining respect for yourself, spiritual exercise
Hi guys. I struggle with loving myself. I practice daily affirmations and try hard to tell myself positive things instead of focusing on the flaws that everyone can so easily find within themselves. Since November 2009, I have been following the blogs and videos of a fitness oriented couple who run the website bodyrock.tv.…

Chicken Parm under 500 cals
This is delicious, and not a bad choice when counting calories. Shake N Bake to the rescue! 58 Protein 132mg Cholesterol 1,738 mg Sodium And of course I forgot the oregano. These are really tasty and take about a half hour start to finish. We always end up with leftovers (just 2 people in the house) and it is just as…

Push ups hurt my wrists.
I'm obviously doing it wrong. My wrists hurt pretty bad when I do push ups. Boyfriend bought me some little arch things that you can hold onto. I wonder if doing pushups with the help of those arch things is the same benefit as with just your hands. Any thoughts? Those things:

Fitting the macronutrients into calorie goal
Hi guys. If anyone could, please, look at Friday (tomorrow) food diary for me. I am trying to think of foods to eat to fit my macro nutrients and also reach my calorie goal. I am too often eating too little and would very much like to eat every calorie allotted to me. It isn't so much about what foods I have at home, since…

Carbs vs Calorie goal
So I'd like to eat less carbs during each day. I eat over 200g easily right now. I'd love to limit to 80-100g a day. How can I manage to drop carbs while still reaching my calorie goal each day? I searched through some old topics and got plenty of food ideas, but it seemed like mostly vegetables! There's no way I can eat…

BodyRock Interval Skipping
I just saw a video (last week or so) with explanation on what to set my timer for when I use my jump rope for skipping. I am trying to find it on the bodyrock.tv site and I'm not seeing it anywhere. It hasn't come up in a site search nor a google search. Does anyone remember the settings? Is it 15s rest, 45s skipping? 10…

Warrior Dash!!!
I recently made a blog post about my day doing the Warrior Dash. If you'd like to read it, here is a link: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/sarah44254/view/warrior-dash-100155 There were a few comments asking about this or that, so I wanted to answer them all at once. Yes, it did cost a bit more than I expected, but I say…

Sugar
I would love a list of foods that have little to no sugar in them. I have 1,000 calories left for the day and have decided that I would like to really focus on keeping my sugar down today. I have eaten 500 calories so far and already had the 31g of sugar allotted to me in my food diary. What do you eat that has little or…

Stay Pufft
To the user with the Stay Pufft Marshmallow man as their avatar: Thank you for making me smile and laugh for a solid 3 minutes. I am in no way laughing *at* you, but the idea and connection of a fitness site and the puffy villain amuse me so much.

Deleting Friends
I had a couple friends who hadn't signed on in months, so I was removing them from my list. Always kind of a bummer. What's a bigger bummer? Zoning out and removing a whole page. Some of those folks are people I chat with each day - I have no idea who I deleted. Freaking duh moment. Anyhow. Hi. I want to fill up my friend…

Diet with low uric acid
Hey guys, This morning my boyfriend passed yet another kidney stone. In the past year he has had 2 major kidney stones (maybe more smaller ones too) and today he asked his the hospital what their initial thoughts were as he left. The doctors mentioned that if his diet is high in uric acid, that could cause the stones.…

What calorie range is right for me?
What am I doing wrong, I want to ask. But I'm not doing anything wrong, really. Just maybe not doing it all quite right. So basically I want to ask this: I eat 1260 calories a day. I have no always done this in my few months here. Should I be eating more each day? Would I lose more that way? It is hard to get a reading on…

Banana Bread
I have a few bananas, they are getting rather ripe! I would love to make a bread from them. I do not have a recipe, and can find one online I'm sure, but if any of you have a recipe that offers a tasty bread that is a good choice for weight loss, please share! I know that as a dessert, banana bread will never really be a…

Carbs vs Calories vs Sugar
I keep seeing that you can add up your sugars and turn them into calories, or the same with your carbs. I haven't found any info on this online. If I am under my calorie goal for the day by say, 50, but I am over on carbs and sugars, some suggest that I really went over on my calories but don't see it? Can anyone explain…

Pants size
I have been eating decently, much better than before I started using this site. I have been far more active than I imagined I could be, running, visiting the gym, choosing to walk instead of drive. I have lost 12lbs and 5+ inches in 6 weeks! But I haven't dropped a pants size. I'll be honest. I'm jealous! I see folks who…

Daily Recommended Sugar
The way I understand it, is that you don't 'count' fruit sugar (or natural sugar) toward your daily value. This is helpful, but I still have a big problem. Each day my diary grants me 37g of sugar. Each day I go way, way over! I completely understand on days where I have a Pepsi (just one can is over my daily limit) but on…

What should I have for dinner?
No budget limits, I need to go shopping before I cook anyway so no pantry limits, nearly no calorie limits (I have barely eaten anything today for some reason!) Please share ideas or what you are having tonight! I need to figure something out soon because it's after 4 and I'll be hungry very soon I'm sure! :)

Gaining weight
Hello. I'm nearing the end of my third week of actually putting effort into my lifestyle. I have been logging everything I eat and drink. I have been trying to exercise more often, and more vigorously. I have added probably 130% more water to my diet than early December. I know I haven't been at this very long, but I need…

Protein drinks and Stomach aches
I went for a run today and have a TON of calories as my goal now. I am not hungry so I thought, what better way to add some calories than a quick protein shake. I put 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream flavored powder (brand: gold standard 100% whey) into 20 oz of water. The bottle has a mixer so there weren't clumps. I drank…

Jogging - Ears plugged
I just got home from jogging about 4 miles. Around 10 minutes in my ears always start to plug up, and it hurts! I can still feel it a little bit now that I am home and sitting again. I don't have a cold. I might have allergies? Is there some kind of breathing technique I can jog with to avoid this? Am I just sick and that…

Learning how to eat
So I get hungry. I search the kitchen and cook myself up something that I figure is healthy. I take a small portion, and a huge glass of water. I sit down and I slowly eat whatever it is. But I'm so hungry. So hungry! Many days, all I want to do is add more and more food to my breakfasts and dinners. I want to have a huge…

Can't stay motivated
Hi guys! I just joined this site yesterday and I REALLY want to keep at it. Often times I find myself working hard and doing great on eating very healthy and being active for 2 or 3 weeks. Then I will just eat junk and get really lazy for a month or so. I am so tired of this bad habit! I am ready to lose a little weight,…
