Number of days logged in
My MFP says I've logged in 7 days in a row, but it's only been 2. I know that for sure. A week or so ago it said I had logged in 5 days in a row when I had only logged in 1 day. Has this happened to anyone else?

Insecure after losing weight
I’ve lost about 60 pounds and have about 10 to go before my goal. I’m feeling more insecure than ever. I just thought I’d be happier by this point by I’m not. I still find I’m not happy with how my body looks but I feel like I’m even more critical than before I lost the weight. Has anyone else felt this way?

Best advice
After a long journey, I’m close to my goal weight. In thinking about maintenance, I’m curious what others have found to be the hardest part or what is different than they thought would be.

Low resting heart rate
Hi all - I've been losing for close to 2 years now with my goal weight in sight. I've really picked up my exercise lately to help make the final push (have about 10 pounds to go). I've noticed in the past, my heart rate will go from resting BPM of around 65-70 to around 58 or so when I've been consistent with my workouts.…

The last 15 pounds - do I need to switch it up?
I started at 213 almost 2 years ago. I am down to 160 today but have been in this ballpark for about a year now. There were definitely lots of times I was up a few and down a few depending on how well I was doing/vacations/etc. My goal for now is to get to 145. The weight is much slower to come off at this point. Should I…

Should I use intermittent fasting for the last 10 pounds?
I've lost about 50-55 pounds in a year or so. The last 10 have stalled out. Thinking of doing intermittent (8/16) to lost the last bit. Has anyone had success with this? I want to make sure I'm able to go back to calorie counting without gaining anything back after losing with IF. Any input?

Is this my body's "happy weight" or do I just need to work harder?
I started using MFP about 11 months ago. In that time, I've lost 53 pounds (going from 213 to 160). I've been at 160 for a while now, really since around Christmas, but I haven't been great with my eating. I feel like maybe 160 is my body's "happy weight". I can maintain it pretty easily. I can treat myself and still hover…

Half way to goal but stalled
I've lost 40 pounds this year and have about 30 to go. I haven't changed anything and am still tracking accurately but I've been stalled for a month. I am tracking accurately and working out. I don't eat back exercise calories. I currently eat 1500 calories a day. I'm 5'4", down to 170 from 214. I would like to get to 140.…

Help me argue this point with my husband
So my husband has logged in for almost 100 days and lost about 16 pounds, which is great. He started when I was about a month into my journey. For the last month, he hasn't budged his weight at all and I was starting to get worried because he has burned a ton of calories working out and I always see him weighing and…

Half way to goal slump
I'm about half way to my goal, maybe a little less than half way, and I'm feeling sort of defeated. The days of seeing exciting losses is gone and I miss the way I used to eat sometimes. The thoughtlessness of running to Wendy's or Chick-Fil-A for lunch or having whatever I wanted for dinner without weighing everything. My…

Tips for breaking through a plateau
I've logged in close to 90 days in a row now. I've had a decent loss, averaging 1.5 pounds per week, but the last 2 weeks I haven't budged. I haven't changed anything and am still very careful measuring. With working out, I average a 700-1000 calorie deficit per day while eating 1500 calories. I thought my plateau was due…

A plateau this early?
I have been counting calories and exercising (light cardio so not building real muscle) for about 50 days now. I've lost, but it's slowed way down. I have around a 700-1,000 calorie deficit most days (I eat 1,500 and my resting burn is around 1970 plus all my normal activities/exercising). I weigh everything and don't eat…

Not losing when working out
I've been logging consistently for 30 days now and have had great losses. One thing I've noticed though is that on the days that I work out and the following few days, I don't lose anything. I seem to lose most days that I only count calories and don't exercise. What is the science behind this? Is it water weight?

Variations of MFP to lose weight
My biggest weight loss barrier is feeling restricted. Once I start feeling that way, I binge. I'm considering going back on WW since it allows for weekly extra points, which I think helps me some in not feeling restricted. Knowing that at the end of the day, if I really want a few scoops of ice cream, I can fit it in. I…

Weight loss after binge eating
I've been struggling with binge eating for a bit. It wouldn't be uncommon for me to have 3,000 calories for lunch and another 2,000 to 3,000 throughout the rest of the day. About a year ago, I weighed around 190. Today I weigh around 210. My goal/comfortable weight would be around 140 (I'm 5'4"). Just curious for others…

I shouldn't have read that book!
I have "analysis paralysis". I have read too much and now I'm just totally confused. I know that to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you eat. Simple (but hard). But I read a book (backed by a lot of medical research) that talked about how badly animal products contribute to diseases such as heart disease,…

Can anyone argue why this isn't a good idea?
Asking for someone to argue on MFP is kind of an oxymoron but here goes- I've tried to lose weight so many times. I'm an emotional eater and I'm working on that and being more mindful of how I feel when I eat and that sort of thing. I have never had a scale obsession. When I'm trying to lose weight, I typically weigh…

Weighing vs not weighing
I know there is a point where weighing yourself too much can become unhealthy. I'm wondering if anyone has lost weight successfully while NOT weighing at all? I find myself getting discouraged at the slow losses which leads me to binge. I'm wondering if making a goal to not getting on the scale until, say June 1st, would…

My son called me fat.
My thin 5 year old called me fat yesterday. Well, fatty, to be specific. I had hoped that would be a turning point and I cried and cried after he did. Not because I don't know I'm overweight, but because he knows. I don't ever want him to be embarrassed of me. I started today with the same resolve that I do most days, to…

I know sugar's not the devil but.....
So, I know that weight loss is mostly CICO but I also believe I have some hormonal issues at play with my weight gain. I am diagnosed as likely PCOS. I also struggle, BIG TIME, with binging. I'm wondering if paying attention to my sugar intake would help not only lose weight (while also counting calories) but also help…

How do you resist urges?
What do you all do to help you through an urge to eat bad? I brought my lunch today and I'm eating it, but I really want to go get some junk food. How do I retrain my brain? What tips work?

Can someone verify my math?
I know weight loss isn't as straight forward as we would like it to be but based on a purely CICO view, can someone verify my math below? TDEE - 1967 Daily calorie goal - 1500 Weekly burn goal - 2000 Weekly deficit - 5269 Weekly loss = 1.505 pounds

Vacation tips
Because of some interesting scheduling, I am going to be on vacation for about 20 days in November (3 different trips). I'm doing well with sticking to my plan but still haven't lost much and have a lot to go. Anyone have any tips for staying on track while on vacation? Or, at least not letting it completely derail you?

5'3" - 5'4" women - how long until clothes fit differently?
I'm 5' 3.75" (yes, the 3/4 inch matters!) and I've lost 14 pounds so far but not able to tell any difference in the mirror or in my clothes. Not a huge deal as I have a way to go but I am just curious when women my height started noticing a difference in how clothes fit? I started at 202 and weighed 188 this morning. My…

Body Pump
Does anyone do the Beachbody Body Pump DVD program? I'm going to be starting it (I've done it on and off but never consistently) this week as an introduction to weight training. Is it a good place to start? I know it doesn't isolate body parts to days, such as "leg day", "chest day", etc., but I'm hoping it's still a…

When will energy increase?
I made a very conscious health change a little less than 2 months ago and have been eating mostly really healthy foods, staying within my calorie goals, working out, drinking tons of water, and just taking better care of myself. That being said, my energy level has not increased at all. I feel tired most of the time.…

Weight training with over 50 to lose?
I've been doing really well losing by counting calories and doing cardio a few times a week. I love cardio (I know, weird!) so I don't plan on stopping it. I want to add some weight training to my routine and have Body Pump at home, as well as a gym membership. Since I have a good amount to lose (probably 50 more on top of…

Tracking pasta
What I've been doing is weighing out the serving I want before cooking it, say 2 oz., and then counting the number of noodles. So, it might be 100 pieces of macaroni = 2 oz. Then, when it is cooked, I count out 100 pieces. It's not that difficult and I don't eat pasta much, I'm just wondering how other people do it.

ONE tip from those who have been successful

Following program to a T and it's not working.
I know when people aren't losing, it is usually because they are not counting calories correctly. I wasn't losing as much as I'd like so a few weeks ago I bought a digital food scale and have been weighing everything (as opposed to the more old fashion scale that I had been using). I've followed my plan to a T and have…
