Really, Bowling
I plan on going bowling today for a couple hours and as a joke I wanted to check out how many calories is burns. Much to my surprise, I can burn like 900 calories bowling for 2 hours. That seems rather high to me. Considering I can burn about 250 calories for a half hour on the treadmill. I am sure it is because of how…

Bone Mass
I just bought a WW scale that reads, Body Fat, Bone Mass, and Body Water percentage. Is having high bone mass percentage a bad thing? I would think that the higher the bone mass the better you are.

Jogging Strollers, any suggestions
My wife and I are having a baby in September and she is registering for baby stuff, she asked me is there anything that I would want or prefer and me being a new fitness addict, I requested a jogging stroller. We are looking for something that's practical, where it can be fit through a door way, but still well made. One of…

A pretty gross NSV
I can finally feel the very bottom of my belly button, oh yeah and when I pulled my finger out it didn't smell like pooh. When I was at my heaviest it was like a neverending pit that had no end. I actually thought it might have been the well that Baby Jessica fell down. With the loose skin that I have I am always forming…

Cardio, Good or Bad
I lost a bunch of weight this past year and in the next stage of my fitness journey. My dilemna is, I began to really enjoy cardio exercises. Running, arc trainer, stair climber etc... My dilemna is I don't want to jeopardize my muscle mass that I am building by having a cardio day. I began lifting again back in September…

54 Weeks, 187 lbs down, Half the Man I use to be at least we
So My wife and I began our trip down healthy lane on January 13th, 2011. We chose to forego Gastric Bypass after researching it and began a diet and nutrition plan with a local hospital. I lost 120-130 lbs in the first 6 or 7 months and since then have begun working with a personal trainer who has been very helpful in…

A Nice NSV to boost my body image
I can thank my initial starting weight for this NSV. So today I am traveling for work and as usual when the minute I get to my hotel I search out their workout room, cause I wanna get a burn in before I go grab dinner. Much to my luck there is no one in there so I have my pick of equipment and with this being an allout…

Here's my situation I am trying to loose 20 lbs of fat while tone what I got and build by muscle mass. I know in order to get bulky you have to eat at a surplus, I don't plan on doing that. I am 5'7" and 196 lbs and am eating on average 1500 calories a day. I workout 6 days a week, usually burning 1000 calories plus per my…

Fat and Fit, the new skinny fat
I see all this talk about skinny fat and how no one wants to be skinny fat, except for maybe a couple people. I would prefer to be Fat Fit, which hopefully pretty soon I will be. I am currently 5'7", I weigh in at 196 lbs. I am technically obese by the BMI charts at 30.7. However I had my body fat done with calipers as…

A Funny NSV, doctor related
Alright so today, I go to weigh in at the weightloss center that I have been going to since January 13th, when my new healthy lifestyle started. I wanted to visit with the doctor cause he asked me to come and see him every 2 months just to check on my progress, order blood tests, yada yada yada. Up until August I was…

Goal Weight and is it Possible anyone guy or woman with abs
I am 5'7" I weigh in at 198 lbs, I am about 20% body fat, that number is based upon calipers as well as a medical scale. I know it's unlikely 100% accurate, but it's gotta be pretty close. I would like to get down to 175 - 180 lbs and look better which will put me close to 200 lbs down in a quick amount of time. I would…

I don't know why, but is this weird
I guess a little back story first. I have been overweight really morbidly obese my whole life. My parents, family, and friends were never judgemental always supportive of me at any weight. I would be the one that usually brought up that I had to do something about my weight. But for some reason, I don't feel comfortable…

I'm serously thinking about buying a mirdle

I didn't know where to post this, so I figured it would be alright in here. their expensive, for a good one about 90 bucks for a freaking shirt, are you kidding me. NSV (New Jeans)
Well today I went shopping at Express with the wife. I tried on a pair of jeans, never did I think I would fit into jeans from Express, a buddy of mine tells me they run a little small usually. I tried on some 36 x 30 and they fit perfectly even over my belly not where I usually wear them under the belly. Just to put…

My neverending journey to get photo's reshot
Last time my wife went to Gillette Stadium to see the Patriots play we around our heaviest weights. See picture below. I think my wife looks beautiful in it, me more like a fat oger with no neck. Down 161 lbs since January 2011, feeling great Update
When I began, I felt hopeless weighing as much as I did, I was morbidly obese, a diabetic and didn't know it, as well as prehypertension. I figured at the rate I was going I wasn't gonna be around for more than 10 years. I started my diet/lifestyle change, whatever you wanna call it on January 13th 2011, My final pictures…

7 months over 140 lbs down updated Success Story
When I started I never thought I would get down as much as I did, but now that I am where I am I feel great. No more diabetes, bp in check, can run a longer distance than ten yards, it's more like 3-4 miles at a time. This was done without Gastric Bypass Sugery, which to be honest with you in my opinion is a harder way to…

NSV-BMI
Although, I am still technically obese, damn it, why can't I be 6'5", my BMI has dropped 20 points in 6 months. At my goal weight I would still be considered overweight though. Not that BMI really counts for anything.

Old Clothes, What to do
I have acquired quite a wardrobe ranging in sizes from 4xl to xl and pants from 50 waist to 40 waist. I would hate to just throw out some of these clothes especially the larger sized ones. Not because I think I will need them in the future, but they were very expensive stuff. You can take pants in but jersey type shirts…

Which Calorie Burn do is most accurate?
So today, I went for my normal 2 mile walk (a little more) around the neighborhood, It was a little bit faster pace this time around, at around 4.0 mph. I have been doing it at around 3.75 mph in the past. The question I have is which calorie burn should I use for the day, I just bought a new HRM with chest strap. I had a…

Almost 110 lbs lost in 22 weeks with pics
I began my weightloss/lifestyle change on January 13th. I cut out fast food, alcohol, and starchy carbs completely. I still have a little ways to go. I wanna lose at least another 40-50 lbs. It's funny now, even though I am eating minimal calories, I feel that if I don't exercise at least 6 days a week, I am cheating. My…
