Happy 2015!!
Should we get this group back up and running again for the new year? Weigh ins can start tomorrow (Wednesday) am!! Let me know your thoughts!!
-
should we continue?
Hello to all! It appears that not many of us check in here any longer. Should we continue this group or should I go ahead to delete it? Just want some feedback - either way I will NOT be offended! Thanks! Lisa

Sorry ladies!!
Hey Ladies! Just wanted to apologize for being MIA! Things have been crazy, I haven't been totally logging for at least a few weeks now. Gained a few pounds, you know the drill. However, I saw a challenge on facebook about a week ago. It's 21 days of no junk food. I started yesterday and have been doing a great job as of…

Week 3 weigh ins!
Tomorrow is the day already!! Please post your weight last week and your weight this week! Thanks ladies! Hope you have an amazing Monday!
-
Motivation and Reminder!!
"You are NOT defined by the number on the scale!" Always good to remember - our weight doesn't define who we are as strong women!! Reminder - Proper nutrition makes us lean and exercise makes us fit!

Weekend Challenge?
Who would like to join me in a challenge this weekend? I know I often stray off a little on the weekends and don't finish my log, even if my macros are still in the percentages I have set. This last weekend didn't help as I didn't get my planned workouts in. Goal #1 - finish logging both Saturday and Sunday. Goal #2 - if…

Week 2 Weigh Ins
Hey ladies! If you are new to the group, many of us are weighing on Tuesdays. If you happened to weigh this morning, please post your a) starting weight (today or last week) and/or b) results for the week. If you have already posted in last week's thread, would you mind copying your stats here? Thanks ladies and thanks…

Tuesday check in...
I was bummed to not make my miles this weekend. Helped move a refrigerator on Saturday and, on top of celebrating Father's Day Sunday, I ended up helping mow at my grandmother's. Great weekend, just not for miles. :ohwell: But I did get 1.5 miles in on the treadmill yesterday. Too muggy to run in the great out of doors.…

Tuesday Weigh In
Just to start the thread early... Here's what we'll do. If you are comfortable, write in your weight last week (also our group's starting weight) and your weight. I think most of you did do this, just repost when you post tomorow. I'm using my weight from last Monday as that is when I reset my ticker. All of wiegh ins will…

Another curiosity...
Hey ladies! I'm curious as to your calorie goals and how you set them to that particular number. I've been doing some research and it turns out that most people have calorie goals that are set way too LOW. I admit I haven't perused each of your diaries, but was curious. Also, do you track sugars? Fiber? Staying away from…

A Great Reminder
One of the studios I sometimes go to classes at posted this quote. Wish I knew how to share the image... "You've always been beautiful. Now you're just deciding to be healthier, fitter, faster and stronger. Remember that." Doesn't list who it's a quote from, of if it's unknown. Who do I give credit to? Don't know - but to…

Almost 1/2 way there!!
Hello to all this beautiful Thursday!! We are just about 1/2 way through the challenge - today is day 18 already!! (out of 40 days!) How are you all feeling? Is this challenge good, easy, difficult? Please let me know your thoughts! For me - most days I'm feeling pretty good - some days it's hard to get out there and even…
-
Happy Monday!!
How is everyone? I hope your week is off to a great start! I am planning on getting my mile in tonight after kickboxing! Saturday's miles were on the treadmill and no walking! And, if I hadn't had class, I probably would've kept going - they felt that good! How was your weekend? My legs were sore yesterday, but still…
-
More motivation!!
I think this was a pic that www.hasfit.com posted on facebook late last week. "You decide every moment of every day who you are and what you believe in. You get a second chance EVERY SECOND." -Unknown Emphasis is mine, because I know a lot of people who fall and don't think it's worth it to get back up again. Since you are…
-
Checking in!!
How is everyone? Have you been able to get out this week? I got a stairs/track mile workout in on Monday. I opted to stay inside because we had some nasty weather in my parts. And, I got in some treadmill time yesterday, where I didn't walk for 20 min! Yay!! Tonight I am going to a class at a local studio using the TRX RIP…

First Weigh in?
Hello to all! Are you OK if we all weigh on the same day? Is Tuesday on a weekly basis good for everyone? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!!
-
Good Reminder!
I saw this on the internet yesterday and I thought it was great to share with you all! "Rather than aiming to be perfect, just aim to be a little better today, than you were yesterday." Baby steps, those choices we make every day, get us to where we want to be!! Make today a wonderful day!!

Hello! (Week 1)
Hey ladies! Here is where we can continue the "getting reaady for summer" group and be encouraged by one another! Please post your weight at any time from Sunday through tomorrow. We will weigh in weekly and provide motivation and encouragment! I weighed yesterday at 197.8. My goal by July 1st is to lose 10 pounds. I have…

Curious...
Happy Hump Day ladies!! Just wondering where you set your macros to find your best success. I know we all lose differently and feel our best differently, so I'd just like to get a feel for what you all do or approximate at for your macro goals. I find I do better at losing when I go low carb. In fact, I've been very good…

Day 8 and some motivation!
I found a quote and wanted to shart it with you all! "You don't have to be better than EVERYBODY ELSE, you just have to be better than YOU HAVE EVER BEEN." I placed the capitalized words in since the image had everthing in capital letters. I know I have to remember that my fitness journey is different from everyone else's…

Day 4!
Hey ladies! We are in the middle of day 4 of our challenge! How is everyone doing/feeling? I'm going to have to keep an eye on my right foot, the top of it didn't feel so great this morning. Hoping it's not an issue. Hope you ladies are all kicking some booty!!

Happy Start to the Challenge!
Hello to All! I hope you have all enjoyed your holiday weekend! Welcome to the running challenge starting today through the Fourth of July! Here's what the challenge entails, and it's very simple: Either run, walk, or elliptical for 1 mile, every day! I have walked approximately, but am hoping to actually jog a mile later…

SoBe LifeWaters
There are carbs in SoBe LifeWaters but they appear to be sugar alcohols as there is no calories and no sugar. Are these allowed on the Atkins plan for induction?
-
Hi!
I'm hoping to start my husband and I on Atkins Induction after the holiday weekend. I have the kit on it's way to my home now. Any suggestions from those of you who have had success? Thanks!!
-
Gary Taubes
Just wondering if anyone on here has A) Read anything by Gary Taubes and done more of your own research after reading him and B) wanted to share your thoughts on what his theory is. It's backed up by scientifically sound research - just wanted additional thoughts from others.

It's not about the number on the scale...
It's about what your body is composed of! Someone can be 120 and be "skinny fat", another can be 160 pounds and be as lean as can be. The number on the scale is next to worthles, body composition is more important! When I reach my body comp goal of 20% body fat, I'll still be 20 pounds overweight on the stupid BMI scale.…

How low for ketosis?
How low in carbs does someone have to be to go into ketosis? Many ketogenic diets call for 5% carbs. Thoughts?
-
low salt?
Hello! I was wondering if anyone has any great high protein low sodium recipes? Thanks!
-
High protein versus salt intake
I've noticed that with an increase of protein in my diet, I've seen as increase in sodium. What is the best way to lower sodium, but maintain 30% or more protein?

New!
Hi all! I'm going lower carb than I have in the past. My original goal was to stay below 40% carb, but found yesterday to be at 28%, or only 150 g of carbs. I was wondering if any of you have read Gary Taubes and what your thoughts are about his books and/or articles. The mainstream MFP folks seem to disagree with him, but…
