Company tests for and will not hire smokers
I was comparing salaries online and I came across a job posting for a private hospital, they tested potential employees for cotinine and stated they would not hire anyone who smokes cigarettes because it is unhealthy and preventable. I don't know how I feel about this, on the one hand it is a private company and smoking is…

Peer reviewed studies are they the end all be all?
I was reading an article and I thought with the amount of time MFP talks about peer reviewed studies (and we do seem to put a lot of stock in them) maybe we should really talk about peer reviewed studies, what makes them good, what makes them bad, how do you spot honest thorough studies and tell the difference between…

WORST DAY!! I immediately started throwing up, I still can't think about it without dry heaving. I bet…

FOMO with food
I realized that a while ago that at the office I had FOMO with food. It's such a mental thing for me, I wouldn't want to miss out on the free food or something tasty. Now that I realized the feeling I have figured out a way to control it. If I have tasted something before then I don't bother with it. If I have NEVER had it…

Problems associated with too low protein
Heya, so I wasn't concentrating on protein for a while there, not sure exactly how long but could have been a year or more. While some days where probably on the low side of the necessary protein range, other days where probably just plain below the healthy limit. So now I am wondering could this have caused my hair to…

Potentially helpful but possibly stupid question.
Soooooo The way I am understanding it Calories are made up of Carbs/Pro/Fat Carbs and Protein being 4 calories a gram and Fat being 9 calories a gram. So it said I was over by 60 calories on MFP yesterday but in the Carbs and Protein section it says I am over by 13g on protein and 34g on carbs which would be 244 calories.…

Glutes won't fire
I have trouble isolating my glutes. I notice my body tends to use other muscles instead of firing up my glutes. Example being bridges, they are totally hamstring for me. Also if I just try to tighten a glute I end up having to tighten my quads and hamstrings to do so........and this sucks. I want to know my squat work is…

Would you have said something?
So my husband came back from the grocery store yesterday and told me about a scene he had just witnessed where a couple were trying to return something at the checkout counter for more than it was worth. The young female cashier was polite and tried to explain the price but also that they would have to do the return at the…
