Ecto, Meso, Endo, Macro?
I was reading about the different macro ratio's for the different body habitus i.e. Ectomorph, Mesomorph, Endomorph. I would say I am mostly Endomorph with a small portion of Mesomorph thrown in. The recommended macro ratio for Endomorphs is 25%carb, 35%protein, and 40%fat. Apparently endo's can be carb sensitive. Does…

Ridiculously good, no seriously it's ridiculously yummy vegetable soup
So I am not a huge fan of soup and especially vegetable soup. BUT this soup I just can't believe how good it is, I literally eat it everyday until it's gone, and there is nothing bad about it. It's called a detox soup but ignore that, I don't really believe in the detoxing but I am really glad I tried this recipe. It even…

Cameras on police officers
Lot of talk about this going on and thought it would be a good debate topic. Should we do it? Should we not? Pros/Cons? I kinda like the idea of cameras there are 3 sides to every story and I think the camera can help with the 3rd side, but at the same time police officers don't have the luxury of hesitating and thinking…

Lingo that has gone out of style
I'm always hearing new lingo (my stepson is a teen) and it makes me think of all the lingo that has come and gone. What lingo did you use or still use that is out of style. If it's kinda obscure then tell us what it means too. My stepson now uses salty which apparently means miffed or mad. A couple off the top of my head,…

Would you or do you have a camera for your house?
Would you have one for your home or do you already have one? Went out of town this weekend leaving 18yo stepson at home. He's been caught with people in the house before. Plus he was watching the dogs so I figured I would just keep an eye on things and if everything went well I would remove the camera later. Boy we weren't…

Vitamin/Mineral absorption
Anybody worry about this? I just learned that depending on what combinations you eat, you might be blocking out certain vitamins and minerals by ingesting others with them. Feel like I am playing nutritional whack a mole here, trying to get 100% of what I need without some vits/min blocking others. Example Iron and calcium…

Kaniwa-thought you should know.
Great little grain, kinda like quinoa but smaller and the best part, it's 60% of your daily value of iron in one serving. Great for Vegetarians, Vegans or those who need more iron in their diet or don't absorb iron well. You can use it just like quinoa, cooks the same, 2 parts water 1 part kaniwa. I make mine in a rice…

Halloween fun factoids
Michael Myers mask from the movie Halloween Due to its shoestring budget, the prop department had to use the cheapest $2 mask that they could find in the costume store: a Star Trek (1966) William Shatner mask. They later spray-painted the face white, teased out the hair, and reshaped the eye holes. Shatner admitted that…
