Steps should not be adding calories
Usually my MFP tracker counts run keeper for exercise calories but does not adjust for steps. Suddenly today it started adding calorie for steps, too. How can I turn this back off?

Macro subtotals
Showing not just the calorie count above each meal but the fat, protein, and carb totals for each meal would be helpful for planning out the day.
-
Extra decimal point
It would be nice to be able to record .5 and .25 for weight and measurements. It's a small thing but if the only win for the week is a quarter-inch off a measurement or a quarter-pound lost, it would be nice to be able to record it.

Change your passwords...
The latest "RockYou" password dump includes some 151 million passwords from MFP (not necessarily new ones) so if you haven't changed your password since before 2021, now would be a good time to do so.…

How long does it take a food to be updated?
I frequently encounter incomplete or incorrect foods in the database, and I report them and update the data. But they don't immediately update, so to actually log it correctly I would still need to create a new food with the correct data. What is the usual time frame for those updates to be processed? Is it worth waiting?…

If someone doesn't use the forums...
... is there any way to connect with their profile? Trying to coach a couple of long-time users on how to still connect via messenger and posting to each other's profiles, but they have never (and likely will never) engaged in the community forums. If someone has never posted in the forums, are they essentially invisible?…

Is water logging gone?
I thought maybe it was a glitch or just the Android app, but is it actually just removed?

No way to edit or delete a comment you post to someone's profile??
I posted a comment to someone's community profile, and it has a typo. But there's no way to edit it or even to delete it and re-post it. Not from the Android app and not from the desktop version. Is this a glitch or just the way it is set up?

Nutrition button default
Hi! The nutrition button on the diary used to default to the nutrition view, but has suddenly changed to bringing up the calories view. Is there a way to change that? It's not a huge deal, just an extra tap every time I open it, but the calories view is redundant and I just want to jump to nutrition. So if there is a…

Profile feed - adding photos to posts not working
(Android) Adding a photo to a post on my community profile activity feed isn't working - the photo picker comes up but it doesn't do anything. Not that there is much purpose to adding photos that only I will see, but I was checking out the changes to the site and noticed that this is not functioning.

Suggestions
Reinstate water logging. (But don't do like Omo and arbitrarily assign extra calories to fluids.) Visible streak counts, on the dashboard. Weight losses showing up on the profile activity feed would be far more useful than "you got five hugs". Make it possible to visit your friend's community profile/activity feed from…

Taking an 11yo to the gym - trainer advice, please!
Looking for real tips from people who know what they're talking about - I know there are some genuine fitness types here who can offer solid advice. Our gym does allow kids 10+ to attend with a parent, so I'm hoping to tap into someone there for help as well, but I'm not entirely sure what they will have to offer…

tried-and-true "clean" snack/meal ideas for kids?
We're putting the kids on a super-clean kind of "diet" to try to track down the source of ongoing tummyaches and rashes... they're game, but not exactly thrilled. Trying to eliminate dairy because we already suspect it, plus dramatically cut sugar, and reduce gluten. Please don't state the obvious - I already know that…

hypoglycemia becoming MORE pronounced?
Since I've started working out regularly and paying more attention to my diet, trying harder to get more protein, etc, I've noticed something weird. I've always tended a bit toward "reactive hypoglycemia" - not enough to warrant treatment or anything, just something that's been there. But lately it's been WAY more…

when your calorie burn exceeds your daily intake...
The last two days I have been doing major cleaning - not "housework" - I mean top-to-bottom scrubbing of houses after people have moved out. Yesterday I logged nine hours, today ten. I have more hurting muscles tonight than I do even my New Rules workouts. :ohwell: Anyway, so I logged that in MFP. Which, after taking in my…

Sun Rash
Sun rash, sun allergy, otherwise known as polymorphous light eruption, or PMLE.... I thought since spring is coming, and I know I'm not the only one on here who suffers with this super-annoying side effect of sun exposure, I would post this thread to (a) give you a name for the rash if you didn't already know it and (b)…

Finishing Stage One! Major progress :o)
I'm at the end of Stage One and doing the AMRAP workouts, mostly for the psychological boost. I'm doing them at the weight I started with eight workouts ago. And the final tally for today, Workout A, is: FIFTY squats with a 20-lb barbell TWENTY pushups (girlie-style) TWENTY-FIVE reps at 70-lb on the seated row…

Exercising after a wisdom tooth extraction
My workout buddy had a wisdom tooth out today, so she's on Tylenol 3's... we're supposed to work out tomorrow (lifting) and she still wants to go, but I'm concerned that she might hurt herself and slow down the healing process. Any voices of wisdom/experience here?

Just got my FT7 and have a couple of quick questions...
I got my shiny new Polar FT7 in the mail today and was all gung-ho to use it... lol I brought it home, set it up (easy as pie), and took it to the gym tonight. First cool thing, the treadmill immediately picked up the transmitter. So no having to hold onto the metal bars to get a reading. Nice. But the funny thing is, the…

What kind of gloves should I get?
Well, I've officially reached the point where I need to get some gloves for lifting. My hands are starting to scream at me. :( I've got limited shopping options here - Walmart, Zellers, and a store that sells stuff primarily for biking/running. In the spring I'm planning a trip to the city to get some new gear, but in the…

Protein frustrations
I'm having a hard time hitting 30% protein... so my first goal is to make it to consistently 100g/day and work up from there. (That will hopefully help with tending to be low on iron, too.) Time to break into my stash of tuna, I think. Any other suggestions? Besides adding protein powders, because I don't have the budget…

"rest day" - should I go to class tonight?
I started the "New Rules" program yesterday with the first workout. It was hard, but didn't kill me. :) All I've really got soreness in is some muscles in my sides that don't usually get worked. Now according to the book, today is supposed to be a "rest day" or just cardio. But tonight is our competition's weekly fitness…

weight or reps?
If my goal at the moment is primarily to lose weight and burn fat, with a secondary goal of building lean muscle... should I be working toward lifting heavier weights, or lighter weight with more reps? I think the latter, but would like to be corrected if I'm wrong. Right now I'm using 12-lb dumb bells for 12 reps on basic…

If you're afraid to eat your exercise calories...
Just a little math exercise for you. Fill in your data, but reverse your goals. Or go to someplace like http://www.free-online-calculator-use.com/weight-calorie-calculator.html if you don't want to mess with your account here. Put in the weight you started at, and the weight you are now. Fill in your stats and set the goal…

If I only have two days a week for weights at the gym...
Should I do a full-body workout both days, or dedicate one to upper body and one to lower body? And how far apart should they be? Until I know what I'm doing a little better and can go with the flow without getting in people's way, I've only really got two times in a week that I can dedicate time to the free weights in the…

Would appreciate diary feedback
Hi all... I'd appreciate feedback from some of you successful people who have lost weight in a healthy way (ie no pills, no starving), or from professionals who know nutrition/fitness. I started tracking a few weeks ago. From Saturday to Wednesday I dropped 1.2 lb, then from Wednesday to Wednesday I gained it back. Which…

Read the menu BEFORE you go!!!
Well, we were reminded last night of just how important it is to review a restaurant's menu online BEFORE going out to eat... our trainer brought in a whole bunch of meals from different restaurants and quizzed us on what we thought was in them. Some were frightening. 10 chicken wings = 4 turkey sandwiches on whole wheat…

Help me set my MFP goals?
34 years old / 5'2" / F / 200 lb My BMR calculates to about 1650/day, maintenance calories is around 2200 based on three to five exercise days per week. I have my daily calorie goal set at 1800/day. At the moment I am working out 5x per week for about an hour, mostly cardio for now (ie treadmill, ice skating, bike) with…
