Sun Rash

Sun rash, sun allergy, otherwise known as polymorphous light eruption, or PMLE.... I thought since spring is coming, and I know I'm not the only one on here who suffers with this super-annoying side effect of sun exposure, I would post this thread to (a) give you a name for the rash if you didn't already know it and (b) pass on a couple of tips that I picked up last summer. Hopefully this will help someone out there be able to get out and enjoy the warmer weather!!

Sunscreen with Parsol 1789 seems to work better than the other types - I bought Ombrelle brand, but I think it's in a few others.

Mixing the sunscreen with Vitamin E Oil seems to make it even more effective (although a bit messier!).

Take Beta Carotene and no-flush Niacin supplements daily.

Take an antihistamine before going out in the sun to reduce the immediate flare-up of itchiness.

And of course, wear tightly-woven, light-colored clothes and wide-brimmed hats for ultimate protection.

Anyone else have tips to share?
