How long does it take a food to be updated?

I frequently encounter incomplete or incorrect foods in the database, and I report them and update the data. But they don't immediately update, so to actually log it correctly I would still need to create a new food with the correct data.
What is the usual time frame for those updates to be processed? Is it worth waiting?
Also it would probably help clean up the database if there was a way to report duplicate foods, linking to both items.

When I report and correct a food, I immediately check the box 'save to my foods' if I'm planning on eating it more than once. I'm not sure the reports are ever treated, I don't think reporting actually does anything?1

Oh good idea. I will start doing that - I think sometimes there are Canada/US product differences, too.0

Oh, yeah, could be differences between countries. Or even simply that the entry is old and the ingredients have changed in the meantime.0
