When you walk into a room of people or see a group of people in a hall or on the street, do you say hello to everyone or give any type of formal greeting? What if the people are in the midst of conversation, would you greet them?

So I cooked beans but didn't measure them before I cooked them. I ate 1/2 cup of cooked beans. How should I count these as 1/2 cup or 1/4 cup. I am assuming that the items listed in the database are dry but not sure. I assume beans double.
