It truly is a journey (pics)
Hi y’all. I’ve been part of MFP for several years. I had huge success and dropped the weight, went through a tough pregnancy with my son and all the weight just piled back on. Lost some and over the past 2 years I’m now at my heaviest weight, ever. So I know what I need to do and no more excuses. Why is it that I eat all…

To all the MFP MEANIES and know it alls, this is for you
A couple of weeks ago I posted on this board about my struggles losing weight and asked for insight on why I wasn't losing weight. Well I eagerly waited responses and was floored when I read what was being written in response. I felt I was being ganged up on, people getting a laugh at my expense! I ended up deleting my…

Fit by 40!
Who's with me? I'm 38 almost 39 year old. Battled a lifetime of wars in my lifetime but I've won and I can honestly say that I'm okay. As in, I'm in okay health (good blood pressure, sugars good, diets okay etc), I'm okay with my looks, I'm okay with the way I feel and I'm okay with my life in general. But as I look into…

Surviving post partum depression: I did it (I think)
PPD is no joke. I do not wish that on anyone. I have 2 children. I was ok when I had my daughter but it was a completely different story when I had my son. My son was born in June of 2013. I never considered my depression and anxiety due to the pregnancy because it began to worsen after I ceased breast feeding in January…

Weighing foods
I'm weighing everything that I eat. I usually weigh my food out as I pack my lunch in the morning. But as I sit here eating my apple and banana it got me thinking. Do you weigh your fruit? Am I eating a small or medium apple/banana? And then for a banana, the skin weighs about 1/3 I'm guessing. Do you just learn how to…

Pillsbury adds
Why WHY do they have the animated adds of cinnamon rolls, and pizza, and everything else that's so unhealthy for you? Especially this dough, which I'm sure if full of preservatives and chemicals, but tastes so good. I am a self proclaimed carb addict so I just SMH at this. I just find that kindof ironic that pillsbury is…

Those with 100+ lbs to lose
Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the prospect of losing so much weight. I mean, I started this at 270lbs, lost 60# then gained it back with my pregnancy. Now I'm still looking at losing half of my body weight. I try to take it day by day, but wow, wrapping my brain around such a big goal is tough. Sometimes just thinking…

looking for "real" friends <<most unique title ever!!
Hey cuties! I'm 37, beat cancer, struggled with weight my whole life, accept others for their differences, have a bit of a potty mouth sometimes, am not offended easily, juggling working full time and raising 2 kids, I gained 60lbs with my last pregnancy (I swear that boy was trying to kill me!!) I eat food, real food,…

Post pregnancy weight loss
Well I was 20lbs from my goal weight when I got pregnant in October. Don't judge, but I gained 75lbs with this pregnancy. I've lost 50lbs so far but the last 25 is in my stomach and hips. So I'm back on this program as of today. I had to have a csection so I'm 5 weeks post pregnancy and feeling almost 100%. With the sleep…

Need more pregnant friends
I'm getting a little down at watching all the regular friends I have continue to rock it and lose weight. I know I'm supposed to gain weight, but I've put on almost 28lbs since my postive pregnancy test. I fault myself completely for this. I am the one putting the bad food in my mouth. I was really sick for the first 16…

cancer survivors
Any cancer survivors trying to lose weight? I'm an ovarian cancer survivor. I was diagnosed at 29. I've recently had a couple of scares that I may have another battle on my hands, but so far things have been benign. My oncologist says that weightloss and exercise is one of the top ways to prevent a reoccurance of cancer so…

"waves hello" Mind if I join you?
Hi, My name is missy. I'm a 36 year old ovarian cancer survivor. I'm a mother to my miracle baby girl and our angel baby boy who's waiting for us in heaven. I'm currently 6 years in remission. Dx on May 25, 2005. I had a granulosa cell tumor of the ovary, which is a very rare cancer, especially someone who was 29. But with…

Cold weather running
I've been running outdoors and I've apparently caught the running bug. But I tried the treadmill and realized I love the outdoors so much better. I live in upstate NY and winter is quickly approaching. What are the winter necessities for outdoor running in the winter? I'm obviously not going to be able to run in a…

Half way there, shocked by side by side pictures!
I started on June 23rd after a little coaxing from my sister in law who's been very successful on this program. It's been a little over 100 days of logging and 37 lbs down, (40lb difference in the pictures below). I've sweated every day for 45 minutes minus 3 days that I was ill. Every day I get up at 5 and walk/run/bike…

Needing more motivated friends
I've been at this for a while now, and have had success, failure and now success again. I joined before and only lasted for a few weeks before giving up. But this time I had several "friends" who motivated me through their diet plans and exercise. I'd see that they were exercising and think to myself "get up off your butt…

Bingers, help
What do you do when the urge to binge comes over you? I was doing so good and then yesterday I binged. I felt so bad. I stayed within my calories but my food was awful. I wish I could remember how I felt yesterday. I'm struggling with this. Any words of advice? I get so angry at myself for giving in.

Elliptical users, question for you
Do your feet ever fall asleep? I can only do 30 minutes because my feet tingle so bad. Any suggestions? It happened on several different machines. Weird right? Edited to fix autocorrect:)

Vitamins/supplements
What vitamins and supplements do you take, if any? I have to take vitamin D and B complex as well as iron bc I'm anemic. I am trying probiotics but I don't see any difference and am wondering if I should continue. Do you feel like you get the proper nutrients from food despite reducing your calorie intake? I'm just trying…

Can I get some honest opinions?
My food diary. Could you stalk it and give me some opinions? I'm not perfect, this I know, far from it actually. But I'm trying. My exercise calories are pretty accurate b/c I always have my HRM on when I exercise. I log the calories burned based on that. I also weigh all my food, and log everything (except water, I'm bad…

Tell me it gets better!
I'm 30 days in again with MFP. I bike, walk and/or elliptical for 30 minutes daily as exercise. I started the 30ds DVD just recently (4th day). My muscles are so tired, almost weak feeling. I'm not sore really, just kindof exhausted. I try to put my all into the workout but I'm not able to put as much effort into it as I…

Questions about starting resistence exercises
Sorry for all the questions. Thought I'd get this all out in one shot. I'm really interested in others perspectives on my exercise regiment. I do all of my workouts at home. I attempt to do at least 60 minutes of cardio a day. I don't belong to a gym anymore. But I do want to start resistence activities at home. I do have…

Moms with small children
I need some help. How do you find time to exercise? I'm home with my daughter all day, she is two. I'm struggling finding ways to exercise because most of the time she's with me. I'm looking for people to go on this journey that are in the same position as I am. Currently I'm a stay at home mom until September. Then I go…

Help with foot support
I have purchased 3 different pairs of sneakers over the past month. I have been walking/jogging A LOT. I want to get into running but My issue: BLISTERS! I could walk/jog so much further but the pain in my feet limit me. The last pair I bought were fitted. Does anyone have any suggestions? Ever dealt with this. Funny thing…

mom's of little ones, how do you find the time?
To exercise? I take walks and go swimming with my daughter, but I rarely work up a good sweat. My husband is a fireman and works crazy hours so he's never on a consistent schedule and is gone a lot. I work full time during the school year but I am lucky enough to have the summer off. But I watch my niece and nephew over…

MFP exercise and calorie question
First off, I love this site! I use the app on my i-phone and it works out great to immediately put in my calories. I didn't realize how much I was eating and all the bad foods I was eating. But questions: So I have a set number of calories (which I think it a bit high but I try to stay under). When I exercise, and lets say…

Saying hello and I think I have a problem
Hi all. I've been doing this for a week and I weigh in tomorrow at the gym and I'm hoping for a loss. But this is my issue, i'm finding. I crave sugar and processed carbs. I've given this a week and looking over what I eat, it's awful! I stay within or under my calorie limit but those calories are not good. It's hard when…
