I joined PF because...
Last year, I started thinking about joining a gym when I noticed that the summer heat was putting me off from exercising. I knew next to nothing about PF's marketing when I first went in to look around. It's near my house, and right next to the grocery store that we use. What made you decide to join Planet Fitness?

Inputting steps - daily activity vs. inputting as exercise?
So I'm not sure how to select my "daily activity level" because it varies a LOT. Some days I'll get to about 10k steps just from what goes on; other days it's barely 2. Most days it's around 6k from general activity, and then depending on what I've got to do after work and what the weather is like, I'll either go for a…

Searching my recipes?
Is there a way to search JUST within the recipes I have? Or is the only way to go through them page by page? Even a list of all of them on the same page would be helpful.

Leggings help!
Okay, so mine slide down gradually. Nothing terrible, but I can't decide if they're too small and trying to compensate vertically for the extra horizontal requirements I'm putting on them, or if they're too big. They're really stretchy, so they don't feel too tight or too loose. And I'm not sure what to do... aside from…

Pull-Up Problem?
I had surgery a few years back and my latissimus dorsi on my right side is no longer attached/usable. I can do assisted pull-ups, and I'd like to work my way up to unassisted, but I don't want to injure myself. Is this still a reasonable goal? Will the rest of my body / my other muscles be able to compensate?

Whole chicken - help?
So my husband is cooking a whole chicken in the pressure cooker for tonight's dinner. Well, we're not going to eat the whole thing tonight. What is the best way to log what I do eat accurately? And the rest of it will be frozen to use in other dishes later. This is something I struggle with regularly: using leftovers as…

Recipe photo?
Is there a way to add a photo to a recipe once you have it in the builder, if it's one you entered manually (rather than linking to)?

Holiday Strategies?
I don't know about the rest of you, but for me, the combination of Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years always seems to torpedo my fitness goals. Treats are everywhere, and I want them all! On top of that, it's so busy that it makes it hard to get any exercise done. What strategies do you use to help you stay on…

Any suggestions for logging this?
So I'm going to visit a friend and we're going to go out for dinner. It's a local place and has a menu online but no nutritional info. I'm planning to get the beet burger with a side salad. Any ideas? https://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/33a5d7_bc41efa47ff3459baaa71e65fb67ddd8.pdf

When does it stop hurting?
I'm a teacher, so I have "lightly active" as my default setting. I also have a summer job that involves a significant amount of walking. Still, there's a part of me that feels like the increase isn't all THAT much - I made sure to get 10k steps in daily during the school year. On the days I work, I get in an average of…

How to log roast & veggies
Okay. So I have a recipe for slow-cooker beef roast and vegetables. I'm just not sure how to log the servings, because you get a mix of the ingredients, but it's not necessarily even. Does that make sense? Or do you just ... give it your best guess?

Tech question (not a bug)
Is there a way I can get "friend just added newfriend as a friend!" NOT to go on my wall/in my feed?
-
Crispy Cheesy Snack?
I have difficulty moderating light-crispy snacks, especially when they're buttery or cheesy. I've been pretty good about not buying Cheetos (the Puffs are the ones I really like) and I did okay with cheddar-flavored mini rice cakes for awhile. But it's getting to the point that even if I dole out a single serving, put the…

Iron
One of the micros for which I'm consistently under MFP's recommendation is iron. Other than supplements (because I already know that's an option, not because I'm against it) what are some simple, effective ways to increase the iron in my diet?
-
Sodium goal & recommendations
I recently started logging again, and this time I started switching out the micros to see how I'm doing with those. Sugar, fiber, calcium - no problems there. Sodium, however, is another matter. I am consistently over MFP's default for me, which is 2300 mg. It's not a weight issue; I have a healthy rate of loss and I'm…

Ketosis benefits
So one of the things I hear about ketosis is that you're training your body to burn fat for energy. What I'm wondering is if, when you're eating at a deficit, that means that you lose less muscle mass than you otherwise would. And I'm also wondering, if this is what's claimed, what sort of research/documentation supports…

How to Log?
So my husband made pulled pork in our crockpot. And then he used the leftover liquid as a base for soup. I want to put it in as a recipe, but I have no idea how. What do I call that ingredient?

So. Annoyed.
Okay so I got up and brushed my teeth and checked the weather (so I know whether I want short sleeves/long sleeves for my walk) and it said it was raining but it would clear up from 9-10 AM. Okay, fine. Usually I walk before breakfast but I made breakfast and did some laundry and now it is 9 and it's still raining and NOW…

Walking with weights?
Is it okay to add ankle weights while walking for resistance? Are there health or safety concerns?
-
How weird is this?
Okay, so I can't help being curious - does anyone else eat gum? Like, chew until the flavor is gone and then swallow what's left? It's not that it's particularly filling or anything, but it's easier / more convenient than finding something to spit it into.

HUNGRY.
I feel hungry a lot lately. And it's not because my calories are low; I haven't lost a lick of weight in months. What do you snack on to fill up, when fresh veggies and hummus are just NOT doing it?
-
Epsom Salts?
Okay, so I hear that soaking in a warm bath with epsom salts is supposed to help sore muscles. But I haven't noticed any difference between that and just soaking in a warm bath without the salts. Is this an old wives' tale? Do I need to dump more salt in the tub? Swirl the water in a counter-clockwise motion? XD

Low(er) Calorie Cracker Alternatives?
I made some tapenade as a topping for steak, and it was awesome! But my tapenade recipe gave me more than I needed for the steak recipe. So I'm trying to decide what is the best way to use it up enjoyably so it doesn't go to waste. My go-to crunchies are raw veggies and pork rinds. I'm not really enjoying it with the…

Logging Leftovers
Okay so this morning I had an egg scramble. Two egg whites, plus a scoop of some leftover casserole (spinach, sweet potato, quinoa, and cheese). Now I could have logged the casserole when I originally had it without too much confusion - it'd be a bit of a bit of a pain, but oh well. Weigh the ingredients as you measure…

Blender question
I find using mine frustrating. Whatever it is I'm trying to blend always seems to stick to the sides or find its way to the very bottom. It's like it KNOWS where the blades are and makes a deliberate attempt to avoid them. XD Any tips or tricks?

Reps vs resistance
Once you reach the point where a set starts getting easy for you and you want to make it more challenging, how do you decide whether to add more reps with the same amount of weight, or to increase the weight?
