Once you reach the point where a set starts getting easy for you and you want to make it more challenging, how do you decide whether to add more reps with the same amount of weight, or to increase the weight?

I follow a program that has rep ranges. If the range is 6 to 8, for example, once I hit 8 reps on all sets I increase weight.1

Some programmes, like AllPro, have a rep increase before weight increase. Others, like 5x5, have weight increase with static reps. You follow the programme.
It reads like you are not on a structured programme. If you have a trainer ask about one, if not here are some decent programmes for you to choose from.
