I think most if us can agree on the merits of home cooked food; tasty, tailored to our own individual needs, easily controlled and logged. No real downside if you've got the time and ability. But often things in the forums get muddied behind buzzwords and sentiment.

So, with that in mind, I think a big thread for people to post home cooked meals/dishes would be a nice thing, so I'm starting one. I'm thinking we could include pictures (of your own, after you've made it) calories and macros.

Be it low carb, high fat, protein heavy, veggie filled, baked goods and desserts, stewed, fried, clean, paleo, or whatever. It'd be nice to swap ideas as a community without backbiting and crying and maybe it'll turn out that (as is often suggested) there isn't that much different between various food philosophy, really.

So. There you go. Go forth. Bring me food porn.

Personally I hope to see lots of homemade ice cream.

Great use for left over chicken. Lots of protein, quick, and can be modified pretty easily. I have red peppers in the pictures, for example and I sometimes use a honey chipotle drizzle to stir in, for a little sweet heat.

I LOVE this idea and I definitely want to participate, if only someone could instruct me how to post photos to the forum from my Android photo gallery and/or via dropbox lol.

Above the reply box you should see a little camera icon (next to the smiley face) if you click in that a box that says 'choose files' should appear. Click that and more options should come up (camera, documents, etc) Documents should take you to anything saved on your phone/device

Cheesy Chicken with Balsamic Brussel Sprouts and Butternut Squash
    *Protein heavy
Main Ingredients: Chicken breast, Brussel Sprouts, Butternut Squash
Style: A bit more time and work involved, but nothing crazy

So for the sprouts (which is already a saved recipe) I use 200 grams of sprouts, 30 grams of raw bacon, 10 grams of grated parm cheese, and 30 mL of balsamic glaze (I buy it at Safeway/Vons but you could make your own. I ain't got time for that thoooo)

Preheat oven to 450/whatever temp that is anywhere but America

Halve your sprouts and cut up your squash. Cut up your bacon then toss it in a pan over medium heat and let the fat render out (you wanna cook the bacon good and get out all the fat you can. Delicious delicious fat) Shake some pepper on your veggies if you're so inclined (I don't salt them, since the bacon provides plenty) then toss them into the pan with your bacon and stir/toss to coat evenly with the fat. Toss on a baking sheet and put into your oven for about 20 minutes. Your sprouts should have that pretty char to them.

When done put into a bowl and coat with your balsamic glaze and sprinkle with the grated parm.

Cut your peppers and onions into trips then toss into the pan that you used for the other veggies. Let cook a little, until soft but not quite done (add more oil or some water if needed.) For the chicken you're going to want to beat it or cut it thin then season (I used generic cajun seasoning and pepper) Top the chicken with your peppers and onions then pop into the oven along side your sprouts and squash. Bake for around 10 minutes, or until done, then layer your cheese on top. Place back into oven until cheese is melted.

    Throw onto a plate.

    Stuff face

This could, reasonably, feed two people unless those people are me in which case it feeds...me. And it's amazing. I pick sprouts and squash off of the baking sheet and just eat them...to check for doneness, of course.
