Wanted to share this as well. I was dubious about the zero-calorie claim.

Good Morning,
Below is the response we received from our Kirkland Signature department.
http://www.fda.gov/Food/GuidanceRegulation/GuidanceDocumentsRegulatoryInformation/LabelingNutrition/ucm064894.htm
Includes the following statement under the heading “Summary of Exemptions”:
“Foods that provide no significant nutrition such as instant coffee (plain, unsweetened) and most spices”(emphasis added)
Below is the nutritionals for 100g of the product or approximately 25% of the jar itself. The typical serving size we use for calculating nutritionals is ¼ teaspoon or 1g.
http://www.fda.gov/Food/GuidanceRegulation/GuidanceDocumentsRegulatoryInformation/LabelingNutrition/ucm064932.htm Outlines the labeling requirements that are in parentheticals below.Total Fats per 100g = 3.5g: In 1g = .035g (less than .5g round to zero nutritional not required)
Sodium per 100g = 190mg: In 1g = .0019mg (Less than 5g (5000mg) round to zero nutritional not required)
Potassium per 100g= 890mg : In 1g = .0089mg (Less than 5g (5000mg) round to zero nutritional not required)
Total Carbs per 100g = 70g: In 1g = .7g (“contains less than 1g” if nutritional used)
Total protein per 100g = 12g: In 1g = .12g (less than .5g round to zero nutritional not required
Vitamin A per 100g = 250%: In 1g = 2.5%
Vitamin C per 100g = 180%: In 1g = 1.8%
Calcium per 100g = 45%: In 1g = .45%
Iron per 100g = 70%: In 1g = .7%
The values of a typical serving size for this product fall well within the “no significant nutrition” range.
Sincerely,
Yakima

Kirkland Signature™ Organic No-Salt Seasoning 4-pack
http://www.costco.com/wcsstore/CostcoUSBCCatalogAssetStore/Attachment/766481_nutritionals.pdf
According to this, this is the nutrition information for this product:
Total Fat 0g
Sodium 0g
Total Carbohydrate 0g
Protein 0g
Vitamin C 0%
I am really dubious as to how this was derived as this product is laden with plant sources, which means this product should contain carbohydrates at least. For one, according to the USDA website, the ingredient onion has the following nutritional value:
Total Fat 0.02g
Sodium 2mg
Total Carbohydrate 1.90g
Protein 0.25g
Vitamin C 0.6 mg
http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods/show/257?fgcd=&manu=&lfacet=&format=&count=&max=35&offset=&sort=&qlookup=onion
Could COSTCO/Kirland provide a better nutritional analysis on the product?
Thanks!
