Who knows about bikes?
Options
A client of mine is moving and is selling a bike he's had in storage in his garage. The bike is made by GIANT, 24 speed, with Shimano disc brakes, front shock absorbers, 28" wheels and features that I don't know a lot about since I'm not well versed in the equipment. It looks pretty new, no scratches and he's claimed he's rode it only a couple of times. Here's some pics:

Selling to me for $300 because I've helped him out so much with weight loss.

right so its a hardtail, looks ok, giant is usually decent. Check the components, are they shimano deore, SLX, deore xt and so on. Look for any model numbers on the components and google them to find out what groupset if any they fit in.
How has he split the grip with only a few rides? Looks like a big spoke count on the rear wheel as well so I assume he was a heavy guy? Something to think about when looking at the condition, bigger riders will put more wear on the bike.

Don't know much about bikes, but those are good shocks on the front. New those would be about half the price of that $300 (or more). Looking at the setup I would assume it was probably around $400 to $500 new. If everything is working it looks to be a good price.0

Get that *kitten*! Even on the low end, that price is great for that bike. I paid $400 for a new Trek and it was kitted similar to that one.0

I've worked with this guy for 4 months now and we're good acquaintances. I've never sensed that he's someone who'd try to just pull something over someone based on the type of conversations we've had and he's been pretty open about his life to me.
