In 2015, my main effort was put into losing weight and I dropped 26 kg ... 11 kg more than I imagined I would lose.

I'd still like to lose a few more kg, but it isn't urgent. I'm in the bottom half of my normal BMI range.

So for 2016 I made a number of fitness goals.

One quarter of the way into the year, I've accomplished ...

-- Cycling up Mt Wellington ... the mountain that provides the backdrop to Hobart. Done!! And I'm toying with the idea of doing it a second time.

-- Cycling a 200 km randonnee. That's 200 kilometres within 13.5 hours including all breaks. Done!! On January 30.

-- Cycling a 300 km randonnee. That's 300 kilometres within 20 hours including all breaks. Done!! On March 26.

I'm actually a little bit surprised I've been able to do all that so far, but I must say that losing weight has made these activities so much easier!!

How has your first quarter gone? :)
