Would appreciate help with this one. Can anyone suggest any easy high protein sources other than protein powder, steak, eggs and chicken? I am finding it difficult to hit my protein macros so would appreciate some recommendations of protein sources.

Great carb source. Not a great protein source at all.

OP already mentioned those. Protein shakes are a useful supplement if you're not hitting your goals through other food sources.

Tuna! It's easy protein to change things up. I also will the car master Kroger yogurt, low calories, low carbs with a good amount of protein. Also cottage cheese has a good amount of protein as well. Good luck to you

tuna is great, beef is great, I know you said not to mention them but I get a large portion of mine from hard boiled egg whites and quest bars. I'm aiming for 110g daily which isnt terribly hard to get near with mostly diet. also for protein powder I use beef protein called "carnivore". beef protein is supposed to absorb better than whey

I used Carnivor years ago. Unfortunately, nope. I stay away from all of the beef proteins now, not because they are made from scavenged parts, but because I would be paying top dollar for what is essentially a protein powder cut with a fair amount of sugar, glutamine and cheap *kitten* creatine. Screw that noise. I can buy isolates and add creatine to it myself for far less.

I've been finding that canned mackerel good way to help you hit your daily protein goal. Just sprinkle some Cavender's All-Purpose Greek Seasoning on it for some flavor. Want find other ways utilize it in recipes.

I don't think anyone's mentioned Edamames (11 g protein/5 g fiber/ 122 cals per 100g). I know cottage cheese has been mentioned, but I'd also like to add Dry Curd cottage cheese (25 g protein/ 125 cals per cup) as it's much higher in protein and low in everything else. Also powdered peanut butter is not too bad either (6 g protein/2 g fiber/45 cals per 2 Tbsp)

I find it hard to meet my protein needs sometimes and usually resort to a protein drink in that situation.

Isotech42 sold by Vitamin Shoppe is my go to drink, which provides 42g protein w/only 5g carbs in a 190 cal bottle. Nothing much better than this for a quick protein boost at a reasonable (for protein drink per bottle) cost. Powder ismuch cheaper but more trouble and time comsuming to prepare.

Good cheaper sources of protein mentioned are canned sardines and mackerel which I can get for $1 a can at my local Dollar Tree. The mackerel is a better value because it cones in a 4oz can, while the can of sardines comes in at less than 2 oz if I recall.

Yeah, sardines are notably more expensive, unless you buy the huge cans of them.
