Soooooo, if saturated fats are good and unsaturated fats are bad, why does this APP have a goal for saturated and suggest zero for unsaturated? Isn't that backwards?

I think it's probably more of a limit? Like sodium.1

Saturated fats in excess can be bad for your cardiovascular system. My understanding is that, if you aren't overweight, however; eating saturated fats within reason is not at all bad for you. People are now differentiating between animal fats (butter) and vegetable fats (coconut oil), both of which are saturated. Not sure how that will pan out.
Monosaturated fats (olive oil) are preferred overall. Transfats are the villian of the day.1 -
The poly- and monounsaturated goals used to be not applicable (N/A), but a few years ago MFP updated the software program and incorrectly changed the daily goals for poly- and monounsaturated fats from N/A to zero (0) and now all of the goals and grams remaining are incorrect. MFP does not care that the goals are now incorrect and confusing to users.
Please see this discussion thread for a more detailed explanation...

Edited to add: Poly- and monounsaturated fats are fine, saturated fats should be limited, trans fats should be eliminated. The only goal that should be zero (0) is trans fats.1
