Post Workout Shake Advice

Options
Now, I just wanna ask what's the ideal Post Workout shake. I have been taking mainly just a scoop of Whey & a Banana blended with water post workout. And I try to get a meal within an hour or an hour and a half after that shake. Usually rice, with chicken & some greens etc.

Is that good enough or would you guys recommend adding in Dextrose as the carb source with my post workout shake. I used to add in about a scoop of Mass gainer as well, but have since stopped as one of my buddies was kind enough to give me a tub of Dextrose powder and adviced me to take add that as well. I'm just a little confused as to what to do and what are the benefits of Dextrose post workout..

I just consume protein/whey and any carbs via food source and believe it gives me just as good or optimal results.

I have read there was not an added benefit to consume high GI carbs (dextrose, waximaize or maltodextrin). What it did say was a mix of high and moderate glycemic index carbs which will generate insulin response and will maintain that response over a greater period of time. It stated it was not NOT effective just not any more effective than having a moderate carb or a mix of carbs.

I am okay with using my food, as for me supplements are over rated anyways.

I eat within an hour or so of must workouts so dont worry about shakes.

I occasionally use powder to supplement if I can't hit my goal with food.

Here's one of my post workout shake recipes

    1. Frozen Banana(s)
    2. Blueberries
    3. LivingFuel SuperGreens
    4. Goat Whey Protein
    5. Almonds
    6. Spring Water or Cashew Milk
    7. BCAA's

    * If I need extra calories I'll do some version of the following

    - Add oats
    - Add Clean Carbs from a company called Equip

Had a company trademarked "clean carbs". That is genius!

I'm going to trademark "dirty carbs"

I do a scoop of protein with whole milk. I can't eat right after I workout without feeling naucious, but I need calories before dinner.
