Losing Weight & Toning Up Fast!

Hi everyone - I need advice on toning up quick.
I am going to an audition at the end of June where I will be wearing a crop top. My stomach needs to be flat and in shape. So under these circumstances, I only have a short 2.5 months to tone up. I don't believe in being extreme to lose weight so fast as it is not realistic to maintain, but again under these circumstances I will do what it takes to achieve that.
I am currently doing Insanity, and at the completion of that program I will have 1 month left before the audition. This is where I need help planning the last month of toning up.
I am currently looking into doing a month of Hot Yoga and a lot of Abdominal exercises. I will do cardio as well, but minimal. Does anyone think this is a good plan to shed pounds/tone abs quickly or would weight lifting be more effective? I would really appreciate any advice.
Diet - I am currently on the Insanity meal plan which is protein rich. I also take protein shakes every day.
Thanks!

Getting a flat stomach is all about losing fat. Ab exercises and such are just the fluff. Put 90% of your effort into your diet and that will give you the best results for your short-term goals. I don't know how much weight you have to lose but 2.5 months can make a significant dent.0

Do you know your BF%?
It is going to depend on how much weight you have to lose to reach a low enough BF% that will allow your abs to show definition.0 -

Thanks, yes I'll definitely be sticking with my diet. I was just curious what workouts are more effective in burning more calories short-term.
I would like to lose about 10 more pounds until then, but I'm more concerned about the body fat%. I'm currently at 18%0 -
18% BF, as a female?
Either that number is incorrect, or you need to put on some muscle.
I'm going to go with... Both.
If you're at 18% BF for a female, your stomach should be pretty flat already.0 -
There is no way to target fat loss. But I think you're on the right track to lose body fat over all. Keep the diet and keep active make sure you're on a deficit...also make sure that meal plan you're on works for YOU your weight height activity level. Also I swear by compound excersises you cant have strong abs without a strong core. Compound excersises will help strengthen back and all parts of your abs also help your legs and booty. Hot yoga is good but if you like it but the hot won't make you lose fat any quicker. In my PERSONAL experience and for a lot of my friends weight lifting we saw faster results and its more fun. Deadlifts squats
If I were trying to achieve what you were I'd set up a safe and well researched caloric defecit + weightlifting+cardio (depending on body fat)+and yoga (because its fun and helps with the soreness. Prob not hot yoga though)0 -

You are at 18% bf and want to lose 10 pounds in 2 months?0

Or just a regular case of body dysmorphia. At 18% body fat, I highly doubt you need to worry about any kind of "belly" you might have0

My BF% reading is from my at-home scale. So it's not that accurate, but at least it's consistent as I track my progress. Unfortunately my body type is lean all-over except my stomach which is so frustrating.
Thank you @nancyjay__ for the feedback. I think I will go to weight lifting - I also believe it's best overall. I miss it a lot during this Insanity routine.0 -
You shouldn't worry so much. If this is a speaking part, some of the body can be overlooked or worked on after you get the part. I used to do a lot of gay adult films. Really the lighting and makeup department can do wonders. Not to mention flattering camera angles. If its a high production shoot, they might have help as well.
Just do one of those body wraps the day of the audition, it will help squeeze some water out of you.0 -
@Of_Monsters_and_Meat Thanks! Yeah I'm planning to do a body wrap and a custom spray tan to tan some abs on me haha.0

I edited a lot from going back to your original post and answering more of your questions0 -
If you didn't get abs from crying so hard after the Kings missed the playoffs this year, I don't know what will help you. :P0
