since I've been doing this for almost a year now and I've been on a low 1200 to 1300 cal diet I heard that if I use maintenance calories for a couple weeks and then drop back down it may help me lose The 10 and 15 pounds I'm trying to lose what is your opinion but I don't want to gain any weight back during this

You have been eating low cals for quite a while. Maintenance breaks are really good for you physiologically and psychologically. You likely would benefit from one. There are two articles I really like about diet breaks. I usually post them but have trouble doing it on my phone. If you click on my profile, though, I have the urls listed on the left hand side. Read them both through for more info on how breaks can help you.
I took an extended break after hitting 50ish pounds lost. It refreshed me and helped me diet up to find my new maintenance calories (which were 250 cals higher than before. ) I felt much better and refreshed when I went back to losing.0 -
