Hi all, bit confused here, but I thought sugar was part of the total carb count... Can anyone help me out with this?
Doing keto do want to make sure I'm still within my carb limits.
I'm sure theres tonnes of posts but none are coming up in my searches... Cheers!

*photo won't add so will try later. My total carb intake for the day was 23g, goal 30g, yet sugar intake for the day was 35g

Not all database entries are accurate, they are mostly user entered so going forward just make sure the nutritional information is correct before you add a food for the first time.

The only way that could happen is if one of your entries has a sugar count higher than the carb count...That would be your incorrect culprit! Unless it is sugar alchohols.....which maybe don't go into the carb count, but I don't think belong in the sugar count either!

Sugar IS part of the carb count, so seems like there are some bad entries in there.

There are some good threads with tips on logging and how to find the good entries -- if eating whole foods, finding the USDA entries is a good idea. To see the format/how to recognize them, and to compare, you can search here: https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/search/list?ds=Standard+Reference

For packaged stuff, check against the package.

You have one or more bad entries from the database...yes, sugar is a subset of carbs, thus your sugars could not exceed your total carbohydrates.
