Getting my *kitten* moving

Hi all. I’m 42 from Australia and I’m about 15-20kgs overweight. I’m going to get myself fitter and looking/feeling better. Hopefully:). All my weight is around my middle, a light suv spare tyre. It’ll be tough but at the moment I’m confident. I’ll be 43 in 5 days so it’s time to change. Here’s to standing up!!

The first covers accurate logging and some of the tools in MFP to help you make things easier. The second discusses caloric needs and setting goals. These are two of the most commonly-referenced threads on MFP; tons of people point to them as being sources of great info when you're just starting out.
