So lets just say I have been on a plateau for awhile now!!! Although I didn't get to frustrated with it....it still was disappointing knowing that I kicked *kitten* everyday!
So this is what I did.....I took Thanksgiving week and I ate horrible and I didn't exercise for the whole week!!!! I did put on a few pounds but Monday when I started eating and exercising again those few pounds melted off plus some more!!!!
I am in shock right now that it actually worked!!!!
DISCLAIMER: if you try this and it doesn't work for you......its not my fault!!!

great job! you are my new hero!
for now0 -
Dude...I friggin' LOVE your disclaimer...lmfao. I think that's why I lost 4 lbs this week...not because I ate like ****, but because I ate something other than what I usually eat...and it jacked my metabolism up like a sissy boy in bootcamp!
You're still awesome, and sexy...and I still love you...and I'm glad you're my girlfriend!0 -
Great job - that's what you typically have to do. Calorie spike, switch up diet and/or exercise.0
-
That is awesome!! I have to agree that is what i have done before too. You have to shock your body and restart it! LOL! if thats the way to put it. Good job!0

LOL when I saw this title I said to myself "Please let it be that she ate more..." Awesome job!0

Funny enough I've been losing a bit, but last night was a bad night, and I took the son out to eat and he wanted to eat at Valentino's which is an amazing buffet. So we went, my body was ultra sore from days earlier so I decided that I would eat and not log it all and just have a rest day. Did that and stepped on the scale today and I lost .4 pounds from yesterday. Our bodies metabolisms need to be reward sometimes and in turn they will reward us and eat up extra. Just like us, sometimes they don't know when to stop :-D0

In a calorie deficit, your hormones begin to work against you losing weight. Raising calories for a period of time gives things a chance to come back into balance, so it's easier to establish a deficit.0

Yeah, I going through something similar now. My weight has been yo yo-ing back in forth for about a month and a half even though I'm doing everything I should be doing. I was going to the gym practically everyday and busting my rump too. Recently, I took a week off and I didn't over eat per say but I did indulge a little. I started back to the gym this week and instantly started seeing some changes.0

I had similar results this week doing the same thing. It was awesome!! YAY!!0

I did this same thing a few months back and got out of a plateau. I too was amazed at the results. Several lbs fell off after that.0

LMAO at the DISCLAIMER but it does actually work!!! I did almost the same and I lost two pounds after eating all that yummy turkey, stuffin & tato pie  :happy:DISCLAIMER: if you try this and it doesn't work for you......its not my fault!!!0

HA! Me too!! Glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks like this!0 -
Awesome! Does anyone know how often you should spike your calories? ie: once a week, once a month?0
-
That's what happens to me when I eat approximately 20 carbs a day, then on the weekends eat whatever I want. I gain a few then go back to it on Monday and by Tuesday I've lost what I've gained and maybe an extra pound.
I just started going to a nutritionist and he told me to stop doing that because I usually get sick on high carb foods.
In my case he said for me to eat less meat and more greens and fish but to make sure my meats/poultry/fish are wild/free range/grass fed, and not necessary for me to eat so much protein in the form of meat.
Hmm, vegetarian next????????????????? I don't think so. LOL
WTG on kickin ur plateau!!!0 -

i would play it by ear. I find myself forcing myself to eat most days. I wouldn't splurge on a schedule. Our bodies have a tendency to adapt0 -
I did the same thing, plateaued....had a week of eating crap, then got back on the horse and now the weight is falling off!0

So can I eat an entire pumpkin pie and be ok? lol! I may just try what you did....I often struggle w/ plateaus and then take a break from exercise for a week-often due to illness/colds etc. and then find I lose again....just a thought0

I am sooo glad it worked for you! I was hoping that it would work for me- unhealthy last week and then back on the horse this week and added extra running- alas no change. I will keep working at it though:)0

You're like the 3rd person who's told me that. Damn! I don't know if that is good or bad!0 -
Great job!0

I've been so afraid to weigh myself after the holiday! I should try it and see if it worked for me too... eek...0
