Gym vs DVD

I started doing insanity a couple days ago but I realized I wasn't havin as much fun as I do when I go to the gym. I like that interaction at the gym, working on cardio machines and doing strength. When I do a DVD feel kinda lonely even though they work wonders.
What do you guys prefer?? And why?

I prefer to workout at home. I do it early in the morning and it saves me time. I went to the gym for 7 years and found that I tend to do the same workout that fits into my timeframe. With the dvds and changing them up it is like I have my own personal trainer. I am did p90x and am on day 20 of Insanity now.0

Wow amazing. How were your results with p90x?
And how's day 20 of insanity? Do you notice a difference ?0 -
I like the gym because it puts me away from all the distractions I could have at home. I go in, get my lifts done, and get out.0

I've been doing P90-X on and off for years, and I love it - I even have a family gym membership that my wife and son use, but I don't. I think I've gotten great results from P90-X. Having said that, I just bought a squat rack so I can start working squats and deads into my routine - but I'll still be doing it at home. The only downside: no spotter, so I won't be able to go as heavy.0 -
I liked p90x, but not as much as Insanity. I wanted to lose the last few lbs and get leaner. P90x wasn't doing that for me. That is not to say it won't do it for somebody else. My body seems to be responding more to Insanity. It is more cardio, but also works your muscles using your body weight and pushups, squats, jumping lunging, etc. It is like p90x's plyometrics dvd, but way way harder. It is helping me with my stamina, which I need.
I notice a big difference after 20 days, but I hear most of the gains come in the last 60 days where the program gets much harder. The dvds for the second half are 10 - 15 minutes longer. Which brings me to the other reason I like insanity better, the workouts are shorter and there is no 90 minute yoga session. P90x on average was about 1hr and 20 minutes long. the first 30 days of Insanity is 40 minutes long per workout. I think the last 60 days are close to an hour.
I think when I am done insanity I will do a hybrid between the two.0
