I am feeling very proud and sharing however I can =P

I had my 4th baby in as many years on March 22nd of this year. I was only holding onto a couple pounds of "baby weight". Most of it was "I used to have no idea how to take care of myself" weight. I've been heavy for almost 12 years now and I finally have the keys I need to get healthy. I have lost 37 pounds in 4 months, and have only 25 left to go until my goal.

  • Thanks, everyone! I still have trouble believing what I see in pics right now. When I look in the mirror I still look the same. I don't know if that will just take some time to change or if it's something I'll always struggle with.

OMG You look AWESOME! I've lost the same amount of weight as you (well, 38lbs) in about 3 months -- so its nice to see how HUGE of a difference that amount of weight loss looks like :) - I don't have any 'proper' before pics (and i don't like getting my picture taken at the best of times) so...I can't see the difference as obviously as having a 'before' and 'after' pic done- so its nice to see other peoples pics because then I get an idea of how much i've lost (i mean as in how it looks). you must be so happy!!!

I'm wanting to lose another 15 (but it seems to be tougher than the 38lbs!) i haven't lost anything in this last week... :grumble:

    CONGRATS! :)

I know the feeling. I maxed out at 260 lbs after I gave birth to my son. I'm now down to 166 lbs and no matter what my husband says, I still see those extra 100 lbs in the mirror some days. A recommendation: Tack a picture of your "old" self to your mirror. That way, everytime you get down or you're having a "fat" day, you can just remind yourself what you used to look like! It really works, I promise!

I'm the exact same! Someone at my work said to me 'you look fantastic! you must see a difference...' and i said 'well, actually, not really.... obviously i've lost weight because i've thrown out pants that have got HUGE but i don't see it really (people say they notice it in my face (and everywhere else too obviously). I notice my stomach has got flatter again (and my boobs are smaller  ), but , like you, I still feel I look the same! *shrugs*. I wonder if i'll always think that as well....

I may have to try that!

Shopping is such a weird experience right now. I still grab the size 18s and XL shirts because looking at the sizes I actually fit now, they still look too small for me when I see them on the rack. It's bizarre.
