Bugers!

What are your favorite ways to make and prepare your burger? What are your topping choices and what type of bun do you use?

For me, I always go lean or extra angus beef topped with either a little ketchup or HP sauce, little low fat mayonnaise but recently I haven't been putting it on, onion slice, and romain or baby spinach on a thin whole wheat bun, they are really flat and small...perfect for a serving of ground beef. And on the side, I'll either have corn on the cob or veggies. Like today, I had steamed broccoli. So good.

So, what are your ways of eating a burger and how do you make it?

I love burgers - make them all the time. I don't have it with a bun so I go fork and knife. I generally go with PC frozen sirloin burgers (ground beef, spices, salt).

My standard topping is ketchup, mayo, cheddar, and any available greens (spinach, spring mix, etc). But I love putting avocado slices or guacamole on it. Also salsa and feta cheese is delicious. Really, anything on a burger is delicious.

Sounds yummy! I sometimes don't use a bun but I found a healthier option for them. Plus, it fills me more so if I'm really hungry, I'll have the bun but if not, I won't have it.

Do I even want to ask how many cals are in a booger? Or even worse...how you know they are low cal? :P

Today I had a 1/4 pound patty grilled on a panini press, on a sandwich thin bun, with salt free ketchup, dijon mustard, two tomato slices, and a handful of baby spinach leaves. A side of pineapple chunks and a glass of Crystal Lite Peach tea. (396 calories total for lunch)

Yesterday's burger was a sandwich thin, guacamole, mango salsa, and spinach leaves. A side of Tostitos bite size rounds and 3 tblspn of mango salsa for dipping.

Who says you have to starve or suffer to lose weight?

Because ( I am told) they taste like packing peanuts?
Because I never gained any weight eating them?

    Let's talk about BURGERS.

We actually own a burger restuarant. My favourite burger is 4 oz lean ground beef, no filler. Cheddar cheese slice, lettuce, double dill pickles, and frat sauce (which is a habenero spiced mayo). I eat it like twice a week, but I switch it up with the lean turkey burger too.

    yum.

No bread allowed? Awww, that kinda sucks. I'd go nuts if I couldn't have bread...

    But that still sounds tasty!

I'm a Cook at Carl's Jr, so I get burnt out on Burgers. However, when I do have one, I put lots and lots of Tomato, Onion, Pickle...Try to avoid lots of sauces, but sometimes I cannot. :D

When I use sauces, it's a small amount. Most of the time it's not even a full tblsp. Lol or half. The burger I had tonight which was homemade didn't need mayonnaise. I only used a small amount if HP sauce. So good.

Burgers are a rare treat now. I ALWAYS grill them. Swipe on some BBQ sauce towards the end. Onions, pickle, lettuce, more BBQ. Homemade sweet potato fries baked in the oven
