My success story isn't neccessarily the same as most. I've always been a pretty small guy and wanted to put on weight to get stronger for my sport (powerlifting).
This is from last spring: (march 2011) 155 pounds
This week:
182 pounds
Really happy with my progress so far. Might not be ideal to some, but I set a goal and I achieved it.

powerlifter. so i'll probably cut around 190 pounds. I let my levels get a little higher because I'm not really worried about aesthetics, i like the strength gains.
But i compete at 165 or 181 so I do have to reduce weight a bit soon.0 -

Fall of 2011: I'm not sure about protein but probably over 200 grams per day. around 3500 to 4000 cals per day most likely. I don't track when bulking.
I went from 160ish to nearly 180 by january.
Feb 16th I started cutting to 165.
Weighed in at 160 on April 14th for my powerlifting meet. Cut too far.
So since April I've been eating for recovery. I don't track what I eat, if I workout hard, I eat a lot to ensure that I'm ready for my next workout.
Even when cutting I don't typically track cals. Just kind of know what I need to gain/lose.0 -
Those traps really took off. Good job.0

Those traps really took off. Good job.
Thanks.
Coincidentally, any isolation movements for my traps were non-existent.
I learned how to deadlift, and stuck with heavy compound movements. I probably only did shrugs a handful of times.0 -
That is great!!! My husband is too trying to gain weight with MFP,so it's the opposite of me but he understands how hard it is to gain!! Nice job..0

Great bulk! You look amazing! Congrats on achieving your goal!0

I honestly like the older you, but that might be because I like skinny, kinda small looking guys.
