.......in a metaphorical sense? Just wondering, sometimes I'll be out running , I'm feeling good, nice and warmed up. My music is playing , the day is perfect and I kinda zone out. I don't even notice when I've gone up a hill. Or when a few miles has gone by.
It's pretty awesome!

I am getting into some long runs (9 1/2 miles today), and am starting to experience that too!

My mileage isn't up that high but yeah... I noticed that an entire song has passed by and I'm like, "oh.. I like this song! Lemme me re-start it."

Nope. Not yet. Haven't reached that point in my running but I sure am looking forward to it. NOT NOTICE I'm running up a hill???? Oh yeah. That's what I want.

I have that too. I won't remember having run past a certain point and think "how am I already here" or "I don't remember hearing that part of the song, did I miss it?" It's kinda cool.

I've been a runner for several years now and "zoning out" is totally normal. In fact, it is one of the things I LOVE about running. It gives me the opportunity to think about my day, clear my head and basically just have some quite time with myself,

Yep. In fact, when I am running regularly and this ISN'T happening, it's my cue that I need to take a break from running and do something else for a little while.

Yeah it's being in the zone! It's great. I also have moments of super conciousness..i.e. when I'm running on the bike path and notice all the little birdies, chipmunks, rabbits, and other critters. I sort of feel one with nature..corny I know but it's a great feeling!
    Enjoy your run! :-)
