I don't know if any of you have had this problem but, I've purchased quite a few work out pants/tops, I'm a XXL, but I have the "stomach apron".... The problem I've found is that I can't find pants that are stretchy, but still supportive or restricting enough to keep that from flapping around and making a clapping noise. This IS Embarrassing to the max!!! Any suggestions on brands etc? The best pair I've gotten so far was champion at Target, but even those are hit and miss. Oh, and Sports bra's, anyone found any good ones?

Have you ever looked at Lane Bryant? That's where my supportive sports bra came from, as well as one of my pairs of pants.0

Lane Bryant doesn't work for me. The pants don't have a big enough butt, are WAY too long in the legs... and the tops are made for women larger than I am. I'm about a size 16ish on top, and a size 20/22 on bottom. nothing in that store fits me right. I've gone up and down sizes just to be sure.0

Yeah, I had some problems going into the store with clothing, but sometimes they do have a better variety online, at least with sports bras. I have had to hem all my stupid pants though, now that I think about it.
You MIGHT have some luck poking around REI or other sports stores, at least for sports bras. I know they have some that go up to around a 40DD.
I hope someone else has some suggestions for you because plus sized activewear is an absolute nightmare to find.0 -
I wear sports bras by Goddess and I love them. Worth the money.
Now, if only I could find good pants/capris...0 -
Do you have a Fashion Bug near you? If not, go online0

If you're using google, what you're looking for are 'compression' shorts. They're great for all sizes, but hard to find plus size. I love the feel of them, they squat you everywhere..

Shirts:
My mom has the same problems. She started looking for tops that flared out elsewhere (not gym tops, but something you could pass off as a gym top). Sleaveless, and a lot more comfortable then the baggy tshirt alternative.
Bras: What size are you? Have you looked into Enell or Lynx? Opinions really depend on shape. For example, I'm a 28DD, where as a larger DD is quite the different feeling. A lot of plus size people seem to like Enell and Lynx. I've tried enell and they didn't fit me right.

high impact sports bras : up to DD : try under armor, goddess, elomi, moving comfort, champion
for over DD : try enell, freya and shock absorber.
I'm a 34 H/I so I'm just at the edge of being able to wear an enell since they're sizing is based on ranges of sizes rather than 1 particular size.
as for clothing, old navy has some really good stuff. under armor also has a nice selection. you can also try places like marshalls and tj maxx. from there look for everlast or even asics.
i have heard a lot about athleta having good stuff as well, but it's a bit expensive for me so i stick to old navy and under armor0 -

^Also, get sized! You might not be the size you think you are.0 -
When I was that size, I had to go for sports bras with underwire and hooks in the back. I know Champion has a few good ones, and yeah...I'd go to a sports store for some better bras.
I dont have much to offer as far as clothes. Ive got some good Everlast things.
And BTW....your user name crackes me up!!0 -

For whatever reason Old Navy hadn't crossed my mind, I am definitely going to check that out tomorrow THANKS!!!0 -
I just bought some compression pants from Kohls. Fila brand. I think they were less than $20 too. I hate when my pants roll down or slide down when I'm working out. These were the best buy ever because I no longer have that problem. They are awesome!0

I just bought 2 sports bras from ****s sporting goods. They have a wide variety of sizes and prices. The People at my gym wear a regular bra and a sports bra over it. try that it may work. Know you are going spend good money for good product. I wear champion sports pants not shorts. Good Luck0
