Long time lurker

I'm usually a lurker in online communities, but I feel that to do something different with my life, maybe I need to change how I approach interacting with others. About me: I'm originally from the burbs of Buffalo, NY and transplanted to the Los Angeles area last summer. I work from home and have an 'tween'-aged daughter. Heart disease and diabetes runs in both sides of my family, so I really feel like I need to make a lifestyle change while I still have a chance to reduce my risk. Haha, I guess that's all the important details. Hopefully I'll be able to learn a bit and give back to the community!

Welcome! It is so good to interact with others but I understand the lurker thing. I am the same way! So what kind of work do you do from home? I have worked from home before and thinking of doing it again.

I do a couple things. Web search evaluation, a couple of crowdsourcing sites, sales on ebay, data entry for a client. Kind of get to pick what I want to do from day to day but it pays the bills. There's a great market out there right now for people that want/need to work online.

I can relate ...I have to try very hard to not lurk! I have a tenancy towards shyness. I've found the people on this site so supportive and as a result I comment a lot more than I would normally!
