I know a lot of people know about these quick result diets, and ask... hmmm do they really work? The answer is yes. Now if it is actually fat you are losing or if it is water weight, does it really matter if your losing it? They are pounds lost. Do you gain it back once you start eating again? Well that really depends on how you use the diet, if you do it and go back to eating junk, yes of course you will gain it back. But if you use it and then eat right, it can be a very good jump start, or maintenance to anyone's diet. Are they hard... Well Yes.. Losing weight is not easy..

I myself have done this a few times in my journey. I actually started my journey with a liquid fast for 10 days with whey protein shakes, veggies, veg juice, etc and lost 14 pounds off the bat... It was a great motivational starter for me. It was the hardest thing I ever did in my entire life... And I thought if I could do this for 10 days... I could do anything!!!!!!!!! I made it... And within them 10 days I had gained so much energy after about day 4 that I found myself wanting to walk...And that I did...

I knew I had to keep going, and found myself making the right food choices after my fast.. I kept losing... I got caught in a rut and found myself not getting really anywhere with my weight loss about a year later, one day I said.. I am going to to this... I decided I didn't want to go to the extreme of a 10 day liquid diet, since then I had gained quite a bit of knowledge from dietitians that I knew what I could/couldn't/and shouldn't eat... So I decided on a cabbage soup diet mixed with protein shakes, sugar free puddings, sugar free popsicals, etc... And again had great results... lost 12 pounds in 10 days. And again kept losing after the diet was done.. Now I don't know the physics behind this, or why I have gotten the results from these quick fixes as I have. But for some reason... I have to tell someone how good the results have worked for me... I have people come to me asking how to lose 5-10 pounds and I'm like... Well shoot that is easy! My husband decided to try it, and again he had great results 14 pounds in 10 days..

Of course you should ask your dr if you are healthy enough to do something like this..But I find it amazing how well this neat little trick has helped me in my journey... I wouldn't do it for long extended periods of time, or over and over again, but why not give our body's a good cleanse once a year or so? Id like to hear from people that have done these and what their outcomes were, and also any thoughts of this topic... I don't know if these work as well for people that do not have a lot of body fat to lose, I seem to think it would work better for those that do... But just a personal guess... Again not a rocket scientist ;) lol...

The difference is you consumed protein (through the whey powders) and fruits and veggies, etc. So you were still getting a pretty well rounded diet.

The problem with people trying to do a fast or liquid diet is they tend to do it all wrong. They'll starve themselves and only drink a bunch of juice and water or something. That is why a lot of them will gain the weight back.

Great job with how far you've come.

I am not at all critizising your choice to do liquid cleanses. And I will set my feelings on them aside for now. I am just curious how sugar free puddings and popsicles, which are loaded with chemicals, fit into a cleanse?? I thought the point of a cleanse was to detoxify your body, not put more chemicals into it.....

maybe used the wrong word, was not using it specifically for cleansing purposes, more for the weight loss.
