I was sat on my *kitten*, in this very chair, wondering if i could really be arsed going for a run, and i decided i couldnt. This happens a lot, even though when i actually get going i really enjoy a good run.
now let me paint you a picture with my imagination brush...
i picked up both of my 5kg dumbells that i had conveniently placed next to my computer, and it reminded me of how much weight i'd lost over the past 9 months (which, in a glorious twist of fate/irony/whatever, is in fact 10kg).
i decided that i knew for a fact that i didnt lose that weight by sitting on my *kitten*, and that fact right there motivated me to go for a swift 6k run, and as a result i feel flippin' fantastic...
i think im going to keep my dumbells next to my computer for the next time i need to go through this decision making process, cos i think i definitely made the right decision!
Has anyone else had anything like this happen?

Nice trick!
I sort of have a similar thing - whenever I don't want to get up early and do the 30 Day Shred before work, i just hit play on my laptop, and I can get to about 2 mins lying in bed watching it before it somehow just spurs me to get up and start doing it.0 -

I can really relate to this
About 6 months ago when I had lost 70lbs my trainer put that amount of weight on a bar and had me dead lift it (at the time we had not done alot of lifting)
I was shocked as to how much it weighed
Since then every 10lbs I loose we add it to a bar at the end of a session, now I know I am getting stronger (we do a good mix of strength and cardio training) but this week with 120 lbs on the bar I could hardley lift it at all
It is a stark reminder of what I was doing to myself every day and really keeps me on track.
I have about 40lbs to go so one day soon I will get to a bar I can not lift
